What can be done is to stop the pointless hunting of these animals. This is a real and present danger for them. Hunting causes a direct death and reduction in the population.

Stop talking buses to work/school and ask a friend/co.worker to drive you!

But the media would like us to pour money into a cause that is not there, and is actually caused by the polar bears probably eating each other.
