The provincial bird of Prince Edward Island is the bluejay.

PEI has very diverse wildlife, similar to that of all Maritime provinces, with the exception of several large mammal species such as moose, deer, and bears which became extinct on the Island in the early 1900's. PEI has beavers, skunks, racoons, foxes, coyotes, squirrels, and a variety of birds.

Prince Edward Island is so densly populated compared to other Canadian provinces because it is so small and all of the land is habitable. Take Manitoba for example, Manitoba is huge compared to Prince Edward Island. Close to the border Manitoba is densly populated, but all north it is extremly light density which takes away from the dense population south.

I live on Prince Edward Island and a lot of people here enjoy the beaches, shopping in Charlottetown, going to shows at the Confederation Center, many different amusement parks and museums in Charlottetown, JackFrost festival during the winter, the blueberry festival in St. Peters during the summer, Festival of lights :) and many many more! :D
