What did Abu Bakr do as Khalifa?

He was a companion

Answer-2

Hazrat Abu Bakr rau is the Best Man excluding the Prophets. His services as a Companion of our beloved Prophet (SAW) are un-matched. His services as the Caliph of Rasool (SAW) were also matchless. The following verse from the holy Qur'an stands witness to this fact:

Sura Taubah: Para 10. Ayat No. 40. This verse (Ayat) was revealed in the background of Ghuzwah-i-Tabuk which was a point of Test and turmoil for the Muslims. The weather was extremely hot and the crop of Dates was ready for harvesting. Seeing the reluctance of a few persons Almighty Allah Jabbar reminded the Muslims the time when He helped His Prophet (SAW) in utter adversity and helplessness.

1. Translation: If you don't help him (the prophet), (no matter), Allah Almighty is Himself his Helper. He helped him (at that time) when the Unbelievers drove him out (of Makka). (At that time) He had only one companion (Abu Bakr). (When) they two were in the Cave (Thoar), and he consoled his companion, "Don't be afraid, for Allah is with us (both)." Then Allah sent his peace upon them and helped them which forces which you couldn't see, and humbled the words of the Unbelievers. Allah's word is exalted to the Highest, for Allah is exalted in Might, (He is) Wise."

2. At this Testing occasion- Ghuzwah Tabuk, Hazrat Abu BakrSiddique (RAU) collected all his belongings and placed them at the sacred feet of the holy Prophet (SAW).

3. Hazrat Abu BakrSiddique (RAU) was Second of the Two in the Cave of Thoar. Thus he earned the Title: The Second of the Two.

4. Siddique: He earned this Title when he testified the claim of the holy Prophet (SAW) about his Journey to Masjid-i-Aqsa in Jerusalem.

5. His braver, steadfastness, devotion to Islam, his Love for the holy Prophet (SAW), his sacrifice for Islam, his life.

6. As a Caliph of Rasool (SAW) he united the Muslims under one banner, kept them intact, fought against the false claiments of Prophet-hood, defeated the Munkreen-i-Zakat, compiled the holy Qur'an and established the Muslim Empire on firm footing. History proves that at the death of the holy Prophet (SAW) only a person of his caliber could have kept the Muslim Umma under one banner. He was so devoted to the holy Prophet (SAW) that he sent out the army which the Prophet (SAW) had ordered.

How did Muhammad use his leadership to unite the peoples of Arabia?

Quarish at the time was a tribe whom no other tribe would want to mess around with. But when they were brought under the banner of Islam, the other tribes in Arabia knew that they weren't a match for the Muslims.

And Islam has NEVER allowed forced conversions or violence. How do you expect Muhammad (peace be upon him) to force people into Islam? Islam is a beautiful religion and people in Arabia realised it so they converted BY CHOICE not by force.

What did the Prophet Muhammad say about knowledge?

When a man dies no further reward is recorded for his actions, with three exceptions: Sadqa which continues to be supplied, or knowledge from which benefit continues to be reaped, or the prayers of a good son to his dead father.

(Muslim).

(Sayings of Muhammad. by Prof. Ghazi Ahmad).

If anyone removes (one of the) anxieties of this world from a believer, God will remove (one of the) anxieties from him on the Day of Resurrection; if one smoothes the way for one who is destitute, God will smooth the way for him in this world and the next; and if anyone conceals the faults of a Muslim, God will conceal his faults in this world and the next. God helps a man as long as he helps his brother. If anyone pursues a path in search of knowledge God will thereby make easy for him a path to paradise.

(Muslim).

(Sayings of Muhammad. by Prof. Ghazi Ahmad).

He who goes out in search of knowledge is in God's path till he returns.

(Tirmidhi, Darimi).

(Sayings of Muhammad. by Prof. Ghazi Ahmad).

The search of knowledge is an obligation laid on every Muslim.

(Ibn Majah, Baihaqi).

(Sayings of Muhammad. by Prof. Ghazi Ahmad).

The one who would have the worst position in God's sight on the Day of Resurrection would be a learned man who did not profit from his learning.

(Darimi).

(Sayings of Muhammad. by Prof. Ghazi Ahmad).

To acquire knowledge is binding upon all Muslims, whether male or female.

The ink of the scholar is more holy than the blood of the martyr.

He who travels in the search of knowledge, to him God shows the way of Paradise.

Acquire knowledge, because he who acquires it, in the way of the Lord, performs an act of piety; who speaks of it praises the Lord; who seeks it, adores God, who dispenses instruction in it, bestows alms; and who imparts it to its fitting objects, performs an act of devotion to God. Knowledge enables its possessor to distinguish what is forbidden from what is not; lights the way to Heaven; it is our friend in the desert, our companion in solitude, our companion, when bereft of friends; it guides us to happiness; it sustains us in misery; it is our ornament in the company of friends; it serves as an armor against our enemies. With knowledge the creatures of Allah rises to the heights of goodness and to noble position, associates with the sovereigns in this world and attains the perfection of happiness in the next.

To spend more time in learning is better than spending more time praying; the support of religion is abstinence. It is better to teach knowledge one hour in the night than to pray all night.

Whoever seeketh knowledge and findeth it, will get two rewards; one of them the reward for desiring it, and the other for attaining it; therefore, even if he do not attain it, for him is one reward.

The pursuit of knowledge is a divine commandment for every Muslim; and to waste knowledge on those who are unworthy of it is like putting pearls, jewels, and gold on the necks of swine.

How did medina welcome the prophet?

This question can be read two ways:

If the question is asking, "When Mohammed was in Mecca, what was the way in which he received the message, i.e. God's message?", the answer is: While in a cave in Mecca the angel Gabriel told Muhammad that he was to recite to word of God, or Allah.

If the question is asking, "When Mohammed preached his message to the People of Mecca, how did they receive him, i.e. how did they respond to the message?", the answer is: Mohammed did manage to convert a few people closely related to him, but his attacks on idolatry were not well received, especially by the tribe of Qoreish. This tribe subsequently ordered his death, resulting in him having to flee to Yethrib. It is only after this flight from Mecca that the Umma, or Muslim community, develops.

Was Moses the first prophet?

Though Moses indeed spoke God's words to the Israelites as did other prophets after him and also made a number of prophetic predictions, he is not regarded as a central prophet.

Moses' greatness lies in his achievements in leading the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt, in receiving and transmitting God's Law to the Israelites and bringing them to the point of entry to the land of promise, Canaan. Probably his most enduring legacy was his authorship of the Pentateuch, the first 5 books of the Old Testament, The Torah.

What is the relationship between Muhammad and Muslims?

Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) is the last prophet of Islam according to the Muslims. They must follow him in all matters of life. They must have firm faith in his teachings. His followers are called Muslims.

What were the effects of the death of Muhammad?

After the events at khaybar, A Jewish women prepared poisoned meat for the Prophet (PBUH), of which he only tasted a morsel before warning the rest of his comrades. One Muslim had already swallowed a mouthful and died immediately. The Prophet himself became very ill from the mere taste of it. The woman who cooked the meat was brought before him and when she explained that she had done it on account of the humiliation of her people, he forgave her.

Three years latter, during that last pilgrimage, the surah from the Quran entitled "Succor" was revealed, which the Prophet (PBUH) received as an announcement of his forthcoming death. The news of his illness caused great sadness throughout Arabia. At early dawn on the last day of his earthly life he came out of his room beside the mosque at Al-Madinah and looked out onto the public prayer, which Abu-Bakr had been leading since his illness, and joined it. There was great relief among the people who thought he was getting better.

Latter in the day rumors spread that the prophet Mohammed (PBUH) had died. Panic spread throughout Al-Madinah and many grew angry at how such a lie could exist. Then Abu-Bakr, one of the prophets most dedicated follower and closest friends, went to the prophet's house and confirmed the death.

He then went out to the people and said:

"O people! Lo! As for him who worshipped Muhammad, Muhammad is dead. But as for him who worships Allah, Allah is Alive and dieth not."

He then recited the verse of the Qur'an:

(And Muhammad is but a messenger, messengers the like of whom have passed away before him. Will it be that, when he dieth or is slain, ye will turn back on your heels? He who turneth back doth no hurt to Allah, and Allah will reward the thankful.)

Many claim that because The Prophet didn't know the meat was poisoned he isn't a true messenger of god, for if he was he should've been warned. However, as it is stated many times in the Quran, all prophets are human who eventually meet their end. The Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) fulfilled his duty and portrayed Allah's message and so Allah took his soul to the paradise He promised. Many other attempts on the Prophet's (PBUH) life had been made before the poisoning, and on those occasions he had been warned. That was when his duty as a messenger was still unfulfilled and so Allah preserved his life for that purpose.

How did Muhammad say women should be treated in his last message to his followers?

Muhammad (PBUH) quoted:

"O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste."

How many people performed namaz janaza for prophet Mohammad?

A Brief Description of the Question:

How was our Prophet’s (pbuh) funeral prayer performed?

The Answer:

Our Prophet's funeral prayer was performed. However, since there was not a caliph of Muslims, it was performed not in congregation but individually. Moreover, it was performed individually because the Prophet was in the room from whence he passed away to the Hereafter and the room was not large enough for all Muslims to fit in together. Firstly, Hazrat Abu Bakr came to the presence of the Prophet and performed the funeral prayer. Then, Hazrat Umar, Hazrat Uthman, Hazrat Talha, Hazrat Zubair and then other Muslims performed the funeral prayer, all one after another.

Abdullah b. Mas'ud narrates:

"Our Prophet, our beloved one, informed us about his death one month before he died. (1)

'O Messenger of Allah! When is your time of death?' we asked.

'The time of death has drawn near. Time of returning to Allah, to Heaven, to Sidratu'l-Muntaha, to Rafiqu'l-Ala, to Destiny and to blissful and blessed life has drawn near' said he. (2).

'O Messenger of Allah! Who should wash you?' we asked.

'Whoever closest to me from my household' he said.

'O Messenger of Allah! With what shall we cover you and enshroud?' we asked.

'Enshroud with this clothing of mine if you wish, or Egyptian fabric or cloth!' he said.

'O Messenger of Allah! Who shall perform your funeral prayer?' we asked.

'May Allah have mercy on you! May He reward you with blessings because of your prophet! (3) When you wash and enshroud me, put me on that wooden bed of mine and place next to my grave in my house! Then, leave me alone for a while! Because, firstly my two friends, Gabriel and Michael, and then Israfel, and later Angel of Death, Azrael, together with his army of angels will perform my funeral prayer! (4) After that, enter in groups and perform my funeral prayer and send me your revering and compliments! However, do not disturb me by praising and crying out! (5) Let the men from my household begin performing my funeral prayer first! Then, let their women perform! Then you perform! Send my compliments to those from my Companions, who are not present here! And send my compliments also to those to come from my tribe and those to follow my religion and me until the Day of Resurrection!'

'O Messenger of Allah! Who shall place you into your grave?' we asked.

'My household and lots of angels, whom you do not see but who see you' he said." (6)

In accordance with that explanation, firstly four archangels performed the Prophet's funeral prayer and then the other angels did.

After that, firstly, Hazrat Abu Bakr came to the presence of the Prophet and performed the funeral prayer. Then, Hazrat Umar, Hazrat Uthman, Hazrat Talha, Hazrat Zubair and then other Muslims performed the funeral prayer, all one after another.
