What is Maqam-e-ibrahim?

Maqam Ibrahim

Station of Ibrahim (Maqam Ibrahim)

In order to complete the upper part of the walls of the Kaaba, Ibrahim stood upon a large stone block which he moved along when each section was completed. When the Kaaba was finished, the large stone block was left outside the Kaaba, close to the eastern wall of the sanctuary. It became known as the Maqam Ibrahim (the station of Ibrahim). Today, the Maqam Ibrahim, with the stone within, is located in front of the door of the Kaaba. The boulder is about 2 x 3 feet. Where it stands today is the place where Ibrahim offered up his prayers.

The Station of Abraham is a glass and metal enclosure within the pilgrimage circuits of the Kaaba. According to Muslim tradition:

"God made the stone under Abraham's feet into something like clay so that his foot sunk into it. That was a miracle. It was transmitted on the authority of Abu Ja'far al-Baqir (may peace be upon him) that he said: Three stones were sent down from the Garden: the Station of Abraham, the rock of the children of Israel, and the Black Stone, which God entrusted Abraham with as a white stone. It was whiter than paper, but became black from the sins of the children of Adam."

How did Mohammad die?

Answer 1:he died in Islam were his followers lived Answer 2:Mohammad died in 632 AD after being poisoned by a Jewish woman as a revenge for the innocent killing of her family.

Sahih Bukhari V5, B59, N713 reported:

...Narrated 'Aisha: "The prophet in his ailment in which he died, used to say, 'O 'Aisha! I still feel the pain caused by the food I ate at 'Khaibar, and now, I feel as if my aorta is being cut from that poison."

(After a failed attempt to go to Mecca Mohammad and his followers attacked and plundered the weaker Jewish settlement of Khaibar where he was poisoned)

Answer 3 (comment on answer #2 above)
  • Prophet Muhammad died 6 years after the poisoning incident. So, sure his death was not due to the poisoned meat.
  • The Jews tried to kill prophet Muhammad (PBUH) 3 times and not only once. He was saved by God will from the three killing trials.
  • The last time that, was 6 years before the Prophet died, was with poisoned mutton, of which the Prophet ate only two mouthfuls, then Allah (God in English) caused the sheep to speak and tell the Messenger that it was poisoned. When the Messenger died, he said that it was as if he could taste that mutton.
  • Prophet Muhammad is neither a killer nor his Muslim followers. One can read in history to see that Muslims never killed a woman or a child when they were attacked by their enemies. It was narrated that the woman tried to kill the prophet such that if she succeeds then he is not a prophet and they get rid of him but if he is really a prophet then God will rescue him and it was. However, one of the prophet fellows was killed by this poisoned meat.
  • The Jewish people of Khiabar betrayed Muslims when they were attacked by the Pagans and instead of defending the backs of Muslims as planned they allowed the Pagans to attack the Muslims from behind.
  • They tried to go to Mecca on pilgrimage (they were not armed) but the pagans didn't agree for them to do the pilgrimage. So, they returned back without war and this incident has to do with the Jews.

One can read historical books to be sure of this saying. Refer to links below.

In which verse in the qur'an did Mohammad say that he does not know where he is going and therefore advised all Muslims to place there lives in Christ?

Muslims already believe in Jesus (as thaught by Muhammed and Quran) as one of the great messengers of God. Muslims believe that Jesus was miraculaously born to mother Mary with out any male intervention.

Its too bad that we christians have failed to preserve the teachings and message of Jesus. We Christians are so helpless, unguided and totally lost.. all because the powerful emporers and kings of the past (with the help of jews) succeeded in destroying the original books and left us wtih completely distorted books.

May be we should read the message of later messengers of God and find what really God is expecting from us.

Why do you think that both Jesus and Muhammad were viewed as threats by people who were in power at the time?

it was because the people who were ruling at that time thought they were losing power when more people became Muslim and christian. For the Quraish, they thought they were losing power when Muhammad (saw) turned more people to Islam, so they thought that the only way to make them disappear was to banish them from Makkah. The other reason was that people felt insulted when Islam came and the last prophet said that idol worshipping is not right. They felt insulted that he was questioning their beliefs. The same goes with Christianity.

Hope this helps!
