Khufu
The largest pyramid was built by the Pharaoh, Khufu. It was a maze of passages, and the pharaoh built a fake chamber for the queen, which was never finished.

Because it represented the greatness of the pharaoh and it is still important as it is the last of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and it is part of not just Egypt's heritage but of the world's heritage.

There are many different theories about the purpose of the Great Pyramid. Along with not being able to conclude absolutely who built the Great Pyramid, mankind also does not understand why it was built. Many believe that Pharaoh Cheops (or Khufu) built the Great Pyramid for his tomb around 3350 BC, because many of the other pyramids in the area have been found to be burial chambers for the various kings of Egypt. Now, there are some that believe the Great Pyramid monument was a time capsule left by an advanced civilization. There may have been some leaders of this civilization wanted to leave a message to future civilizations. Others think it was some civil service project.

Pyramids were symbols of power among these cultures. At first they were dedicated to the Mesoamerican gods, but they also became a symbol of the capacity to carry out large works of engineering.

The recently discovered (Jul 2015) pyramid of Tonina, on the southern state of Chiapas, is considered the tallest Mayan pyramid found within that country. It is reported as 75 meters (246 feet) tall.

The specific sizes of the blocks varied from the base to the point. Take the Pyramid of Khufu. Constructed entirely from limestone, the base stones faces were measured on the outside 1,47x1.47x2,3 meters. Their approximate weight was 9.3 tons. (8500 kg) the upper most blocks were less than one half meters and weighed only 50 lbs. (22 kg) Most pyramids followed the same structural pattern, but also with varying size blocks and material.

Each note or rest determines the amount of beats in for a note or rest. The time signature of a song consists of two numbers, the top number represents how many beats in a measure, and the bottom number represents how many beats a whole note gets.

In 4/4 timing (4/4 being the time signature) a whole note/rest gets four beats and a measure consists of four beats. Therefore:

Half note/rest- Two Beats

Quarter note/rest- One beat

Eighth note/rest- Half of a beat

Sixteenth note/rest- Quarter of a beat

and so on to 32nd, 64th, etc.

Another coming time signature includes 2/2 (cut time) where a whole note/rest gets two beats and there are two beats in a measure. Therefore:

Half note/rest- One Beat

Quarter note/rest- Half of a beat

Eighth note/rest- Quarter of a beat

Etc.

Other common time signatures include 3/4 (three beats to a measure), 2/4, and 6/8. Follow the same process in deriving the number of beats in a note or rest.
