What does Quran say about inheritence?

The Glorious Qur'an contains specific and detailed guidance regarding the division of the inherited wealth, among the rightful beneficiaries.

The Qur'anic verses that contain guidance regarding inheritance are:

Surah Baqarah, chapter 2 verse 180

Surah Baqarah, chapter 2 verse 240

Surah Nisa, chapter 4 verse 7-9

Surah Nisa, chapter 4 verse 19

Surah Nisa, chapter 4 verse 33 and

Surah Maidah, chapter 5 verse 106-108

There are three verses in the Qur'an that broadly describe the share of close relatives i.e. Surah Nisah chapter 4 verses 11, 12 and 176. The translation of these verses are as follows:

"Allah (thus) directs you as regards your children's (inheritance): to the male, a portion equal to that of two females, if only daughters, two or more, their share is two-thirds of the inheritance; If only one, her share is a half.

For parents, a sixth share of the inheritance to each, if the deceased left children; If no children, and the parents are the (only) heirs, the mother has a third; if the deceased left brothers (or sisters) the mother has a sixth. (The distribution in all cases is) after the payment of legacies and debts. Ye know not whether your parents or your children are nearest to you in benefit. These are settled portions ordained by Allah; and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

In what your wives leave, your share is half. If they leave no child; but if they leave a child, ye get a fourth; after payment of legacies and debts. In what ye leave, their share is a fourth, if ye leave no child; but if ye leave a child, they get an eight; after payment of legacies and debts. If the man or woman whose inheritance is in question, has left neither ascendants nor descendants, but has left a brother or a sister, each one of the two gets a sixth; but if more than two, they share in a third; after payment of legacies and debts; so that no loss is caused (to anyone). Thus it is ordained by Allah; and Allah is All-Knowing Most Forbearing"

[Al-Qur'an 4:11-12]

"They ask thee for a legal decision. Say: Allah directs (them) about those who leave no descendants or ascendants as heirs. If it is a man that dies, leaving a sister but no child, she shall have half the inheritance. If (such a deceased was) a woman who left no child, Her brother takes her inheritance. If there are two sisters, they shall have two thirds of the inheritance (between them). If there are brothers and sisters, (they share), the male having twice the share of the female. Thus doth Allah (swt) makes clear to you (His knowledge of all things).

Quran is God revelation to prophet Muhammad through the Angel Gabriel. The Quran is the real God words (without a single letter alterations) with the same Arabic language that is still a live language. That is why Quran is different than other holy books. The texts of other holy books are not real God words but translations of the meanings of God words with alterations and additions made effective by many human contributors.

That is why memorizing Quran means memorizing God words.

In addition, Quran includes all morals and guides for a Muslim to lead a good life that meets God commands and in the same help a Muslim to maintain good characters and to do good deeds for his society.

Memorizing Quran also is an important factor that ensured having Quran without a single letter change since start of Quran revelation until the moment and will remain without single letter change, by god will, until the Day of Judgment.

Who are the writers of the Qur'an?

Quran is the sacred book of Muslims. Muslims believe that the Quran was given by God to the Islamic Prophet Muhammad through the angel Gabriel over a period of 23 years. According to the Islamic literature Muhammad recited the Arabic Quran before his followers between 610-632AD. When Muhammad first recited the various parts of the Quran regularly before his followers they in turn recorded those words on parchments, scapula, leaf-stalks of date palms etc. (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 60, Number 201). However, these materials on which the Quran originally was written down do not exist now.

There were around forty scribes who made the recordings of the Qurnic recitations of Muhammad during his life time. Although the names of these forty individuals are mentioned in some hadith literature it is not specified which scribe wrote which sura or ayas of the Quran.

After the Islamic Prophet Muhammad's death in 632AD, under the command of the first Muslim Kaliph Abu Bakr one of Muhammad's followers Zayd ibn Thabit complied the Quran into one book. It was later underwent at least one more codification under the third Kaliph Uthman. At that time the official version of the Quran was prepared and all the previous copies were burnt (Sahih Bukhari 6:61:510). The present day Quran, which Muslims believe is the same as the original one, comprises of 114 suras or chapters and 6236 verses in Arabic language.

Why do Muslims treat Christians badly?

Answer 1

Who said that! they're exactly the same apart from Muslims pray 5 times a day and don't believe Jesus is the son of god.

Answer 2

No. They are not exactly the same and are in fact quite different religions. As concerns the issue of respect, Muslims are typically more concerned about the world insulting their traditions and their prophets than they are in pursuing a true and lasting equality with other religions. This was an attitude that most Christians had 500 years ago, but Christendom has become more open and accepting of other positions in the interim.

Christians in the Arab World are still treated as second class citizens because that is the place accorded them in the Qur'an. They are called "Dhimmi" which means that they are protected by Muslims. However, it raises the question "protected from what or from whom?". In the medieval period, before the Enlightenment and the creation of Natural Rights, a person only had what privileges were extended to him from the rulers and did not have the ability to claim that because he was a human being that he was entitled to some basic forms of respect. Muslims still operate on this premise of granted authority as concerns religious values. Christianity only has permission to perform religious actions not the liberty to perform them.

Why is hajj performed?

The fifth pillar of Islam is hajj (or pilgrimage) to Mecca (or Makkah) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is obligatory to every adult Muslim, regardless the Gender, to go for hajj at least once in life if he/she can afford it physically, financially, and safely.

Hajj (pilgrimage) is a great annual event for Muslims. There are many reasons why Muslims perform hajj which translate into the following main numerous benefits of Hajj:

  • It teaches us that Muslims are brothers and are all equal.
  • It teaches us that no differences among people due to race, tribe, color, home country, or tongue language.
  • It teaches us, practically, the real human rights when you find people equal during praying, worshiping, and during performing the rituals.
  • Hajj teaches us that we are belonging to God (Allah) alone and that we all need his mercy and forgiveness.
  • Hajj is biggest world gathering in the world. It is a demonstration of Islam unity and Islam universality.
  • Muslims get acquainted with the spiritual and historical environment of the prophet Muhammad which strengthen their faith.
  • It is a reminder of the Grand Assembly of the Day of Judgment when people will stand equal before Allah waiting for their final destiny.
  • It confirms commitment of Muslims to Allah.
  • On top of the above, Muslims on Hajj are rewarded, per God will, with forgiveness of all their sins and they return back as pure and innocent as the new born.

When prophet Abraham (or Ibrahim); peace be upon him; finished the rising up of Ka'bah, he prayed Allah (or God in English and same God worshiped in Christianity and Judaism) to bless Makkah (or Mecca) and its vicinity and to make people come visit it until the Day of Judgement though it was remote and in the desert. Qur'an says (meaning English translation):

"Remember Abraham said: "O my Lord! Make this city one of peace and security: and preserve me and my sons from worshipping idols. "O my Lord! They have indeed led astray many among mankind; he then who follows my (way) is of me, and he that disobeys me, but You are indeed Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. "O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in a valley without cultivation, by Your Sacred House; in order, O our Lord, that they may establish regular Prayer: so fill the hearts of some among people with love towards them, and feed them with Fruits: so that they may give thanks." (14:35-7)

Allah always relates the story of Hajj and Ibrahim to Tawheed and Islam, which is the way of Ibrahim, Muhammad, and all the prophets (Peace be upon them).

"Remember We made the House a place of assembly for men and a place of safety. And take the Station of Abraham as a place of prayer; and We covenanted with Abraham and Isma'il, that they should sanctify My House for those who compass it round, or use it as a retreat, or bow, or prostrate themselves (therein in Prayer). And remember Abraham said: "My Lord, make this a City of Peace, and feed its People with fruits' such of them as believe in Allah and the Last Day." He said: "(Yes), and such as reject Faith, for a while will I grant them their Pleasure, but will soon drive them to the torment of Fire, an evil destination (indeed)!" And remember Abraham and Isma'il raised the foundations of the House (with this prayer): "Our Lord! Accept (this service) from us: for You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. "Our Lord! Make of us Muslims bowing to Your Will); and of our progeny a people Muslim, bowing to Your (Will); and show us our places for the celebration of (due) rites; and turn unto us (in Mercy); for You are the Oft-Returning, Most Merciful. "Our Lord! Send amongst them a Messenger of their own, who shall rehearse Your Signs to them and instruct them in Scripture and Wisdom, and sanctify them: for You are the Exalted in Might, the Most Wise." And who turns away from the religion of Abraham but such as debase their souls with folly? Him We chose and rendered pure in this world: and he will be in the Hereafter in the ranks of the Righteous. Behold! His Lord said to him: "Bow (your will to Me):" he said: "I bow (my will) to the Lord and Cherisher of the Universe." And this was the Legacy that Abraham left to his sons, and so did Jacob; "O my sons! Allah has chosen the Faith for you; then die not except in the state of submission (to Allah)" (2:125-32)

Dose the Koran say man was created in Allahs image?

The Bible, Genesis 1:27 says that God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him.

The Noble Quran, Verse 42:11 says that Allah is the creator of the heavens and the earth and there is nothing like him.

Surah Ikhlas (Surah 112) also clarifies that no-one is comparable to Allah. (God)
