The group performed mainly Reggae songs such as "I Shot the Sheriff" - "No Woman No Cry" and " Could you be love?" Marley was a prominent member of the Rastafari movement. His father was a captain in the Royal Marines from Essex in the UK, and was 41 years old when Bob was born.

Bob Marley died of which disease?
Bob Marley died as a result of melanoma (a type of skin cancer) which was initially discovered in 1977 after a football (soccer) accident which resulted in the nail of Marley's big toe being torn off. It is believed that the cancer originated in this area (as it was first discovered there upon inspection and treatment of his injury) and eventually metastasized to his liver lungs and brain. Marley received a small skin graft of the big toe which was the result of a great compromise between him and his doctor due to his strict Rastafarian beliefs. He refused to have the toe amputated and was put on a very regimented diet and recommended to pursue periodic check ups (which he did not do) in order to combat the cancer and any further infection. By 1980 The cancer was at an irreversible (inoperable) stage and Marley died the following year after receiving radiation and holistic or 'alternative treatment in Germany.
