The answer to this is dependent on the definition of 'Digital'. Taken literally, Digital is a matter of 'On' or 'Off', so whilst carried on an analogue system, it is indeed digital as can have only two states, on or off.

Based on this definition, the earliest 'Digital' device was the Jacquard Loom, a machine invented to weave silk and its manufacture was completed in 1801. The loom can be considered 'Digital' as it allowed the hooks of the machine to be either Engaged or Not Engaged, thereby being On/Off or alternatively True/False.

The Jacquard Loom was a purely mechanical device but was controlled 'Digitally' by punched cards which allowed the hooks to be engaged, or not.

If your definition of 'Digital' includes 'Electronic', then it may well could be.

According to the manual for the JVC CL034, the are several codes that can be tried. The codes are 002 009 109 202 209 210 310 402 408 508 510 807 901 914 917.

In most cases you must open the garage door opener to access the program button. Very rarely are the buttons easy to access, this is to make the unit more secure.

It doesn't give you all of the functions that the remote that came with it does, but you can at least turn it on/off and change your selections on the DVD player. For instance it will let you select "play all" instead of having to watch each segment of a DVD (like for tv shows where there are multiple shows on one disc) in order - or go to individual shows. (Which if you're missing the original remote you can not do.)

Many codes are here but the instructions say that there is an indicator light on the Systemlink5. My Systemlink5AV has no such indicator light. Here is the link

None of these codes worked on my old Magnavox but neither did the ones from the actual Systemlink5AV manual who's link is listed below.

It can be found by opening the battery compartment and looking on the inside walls. There should be two stickers in there, one is the date of manufacture and the other is your remote's model number.
