There is an elevator from the bottom floor of the monument to the observation deck area. There is no elevator from the observation deck to the crown. To get to the crown you have to walk up a steep, spiral staircase.

The famous Rockefeller Christmas tree is erected each year in New York City's Rockefeller Plaza. Each year, the tree is cut down and brought into New York from neighboring states. 2009's Rockefeller Christmas tree came from Easton, Connecticut.
i would have to say close to Christmas because, you get to see the huge Christmas tree :DD .. Lights and stuff everywhere, and the [garden i think??] surrounding the tree..... Or maybe you plan something different :|
