How much does a failed root canal job cost?
Call the dentist that did your root canal or any current dentist. When the nerve dies the tooth turns grey. Then the tooth has to be pulled. Depending on where your 'root canal' is, you may need a bridge or implant. This was my experience. Cost would depend on the dentist fee and insurance consideration. Blessings.
Can a new crown tooth that hits against another tooth cause you to need a root canal?
No. But a tooth that needed a crown probably had a lot of decay. Sometimes it's very close to the nerve and doesn't heal itself and ends up needing a root canal. This is by no fault, just the way the tooth reacted.
Your teeth shouldn't be hitting each other in a bothersome fashion. If they are, the bite needs to be adjusted by the dentist polishing down the areas that are too "high." This is a very simple short procedure.
An improper bite can cause pain that might be mistaken for the pain of a nerve dying in a tooth. I don't know if it can cause actual damage.
Is it normal for a root canal to discolor a tooth?
Yes, teeth that have root canals frequently turn dark over time.
Why do I have multiple failed root canals?
Only a dentist can answer this one and I suggest you find a better dentist. Many people don't realize you can have up to 4 diffent canals in a tooth and not the usual two. Some dentists are sloppy and miss this.
A DMD is the same as a DDS - it just depends where you went to school. Since both degrees are dentists...YES, a DMD can do root canals. The specific specialist that does root canals is an endodontist, but general dentists can do them as well.
Trauma to the front teeth will often cause a tooth to die and subsequent discoloration. A root canal is needed to prevent or stop the infection process. To address the color, root canal treatment should help by removing all the dark, dead tissue in your tooth but to get it back to normal, you may need internal bleaching, veneer or a crown. Talk to you dentist about this.
What do you do if your tooth is gray after a root canal?
You dont have to do anything. That is perfectly normal. My sister had one and hers is the same way. The dentist said it will be like that. So sometimes if you go to the dentist they can give you a cap for it, but i dont think it's recommended.
They may be able to save it by putting a cap or crown on it. You are lucky that it doesn't hurt. Hopefully you won't need a root canal, but they will know by taking an Xray of it, and testing you for hot and cold sensitivity. If they can't save the tooth, then yes, they will put it. Especially if it is a very back tooth. You can live without it. Although some may insist that you have a cap, or crown to replace it.
Can root canal be performed on a wisdom tooth?
Sure it can, but almost any dentist would consider it a waste of time and money.
Wisdom teeth, in 99%+ of human beings are something you are better off without.
can someone answer this please ! :@
I had a very saw jaw earlier this year. Not sure about my Lymph knots however I was told I had TMI - a swelling oin the jaw joint. Can be caused by grinding teeth at night and being stressed. Mine was not helped by chewing. What did I do? had mushed up food for over a week - no chewing. Went and had several massages to relax the body / back and the jaw. Felt great. took some anti inflams and one small dimazapan for about 3 nights to ensure a deep sleep. All was great. Then I went surfing and the surf board turned in the water and was lifted up at force to the underneath of my chin with such force I saw stars ! I massaged my jaw for the next 2 hours to relax it and so far so good. If I feel a bit stressed and tension in my jaw I prod my fingers to where it hurts and massage. Good luck

What happens when you have to have a root canal procedure repeated?
The first dentist screwed up if the procedure has to be repeated on the same tooth. Talk to the dentist and if necessary, a lawyer.
Not true. The Long-Term success rate for initial root canal treatment will vary from 80-95%. (Any dental or medical procedure is not 100% predictable in the long-term, eg dental implants). In the 5-20% of teeth where root canal treatment is unsuccessful, retreatment may be needed. It does NOT necessarily mean that the dentist "screwed up"
Retreatment involves drilling another hole in the tooth or crown, removing all the old filling material, cleaning, disinfecting, and placing a new root canal filling. Almost all dentists will refer you to an Endodontist for retreatment cases.
Are teeth extractions with root canals painful?
Yes, they are extremely painful. Some teeth might be more painful than others, it all depends on the tooth.
Which instrument is used to enlarge and smooth the root canal?
The instruments typically used are called Endo Files . . . they come in different lengths and widths. . . . the dentist uses the size relevant to the patients canals along with RC prep to smooth and at the same time enlarge the canals . . . If all goes well the dentist can use Gutta Percha and Sealer to finalize the Root Canal . . (several steps were skipped of course ) .
Is it normal to have swelling in the face and gum 4 days after a root canal procedure?
The root canal is a dental procedure which is used to repair damaged teeth. Sometimes it takes a few days for recovery, but if you are having serious pain or swelling after root canal treatment, then contact your dentist as soon as possible to schedule next appointment.
"Occlusive" is an adjective that refers to the occlusal, which is the chewing surface of molar and pre-molar teeth.
Is slight tooth discomfort normal after a root canal?
Yes, it is. If the discomfort does not ease, this is a sign of failure of the root treatment. I would suggest that if the discomfort is not severe, to wait a couple of weeks to see if it settles. An antiinflammatory drug such as Ibuprofen is often recommended for a couple of days post-operatively. I hope this is of some use to you.
AnswerYes, after a root canal you might feel some pain for a few days, and then some discomfort for a few weeks every time you chew on that tooth. There are always exceptions where some people don't feel any pain at all, and others feel discomfort for a few months.
