Why do people like to solve the Rubik's Cube?

Because it's fun, it's a challenge every time, and also, it's just something to do, like if you're waiting for a bus, or sitting in class doing nothing. I do it about five or six times a day, just for fun, and it never gets old. I would definitely recommend learning it.

Is a 4x4 Rubik's cube harder than a 5x5 Rubik's cube?

No, not really - at least not for me (I'm 52yo) I think that the differences between the 4x4 and 5x5 are slight. It's one of those things where "if you can solve a 3x3 you can solve a 4x4 and if you can solve a 3x3 and a 4x4 you can solve a 5x5. The hardest part comes with the edges - there's some weird manuevers you have to do to get the edges right and oddly enough the 5x5 is easier on the edges than the 4x4 because the 5x5 has a center edge for each color and that makes it easier to get matches. It did for me anyway. But once I learned the 4x4, the 5x5 wasn't too hard to pick up.

How do you draw net of cube that holds 125 unit cubes?

What is the most squares in a Rubik's Cube?

A standard Rubik's Cube has a total of 54 squares, with each face consisting of 9 squares. However, if you are referring to the number of squares visible on a solved Rubik's Cube, there are 6 faces with 9 squares each, totaling 54 visible squares.

How do you unscramble a rubix cube?

there are specific algorithms that you can use or find on the Internet.

Why was the rubiks cube invented?

The Rubik's cube was invented by Erno Rubik for a reason, it wasn't invented as a toy. He invented to teach the 3 dimensions of objects to his students at Budapest Colledge, as a proffessor in achitecture.

How do i remove the sticky residue left on the stickers when applying stickers to the v cube 7 using the replacement stickers that came with it?

Your question is too confusing. - Please re-write in simpler fashion. I don't understand why you would want to remove glue from stickers that you are going to use again. And WHAT is a "v cube 7 "

What is your reflection on the history of the Rubik's cube?

There is only 1 correct answer and 43 quintillion wrong ones for Rubik's Cube. God's algorithm is the answer that solves the puzzle in the least number of moves. One eighth of the world's population has laid hands on 'The Cube', the most popular puzzle in history and the colorful brainchild of Erno Rubik.

Enter Erno RubikErno Rubik was born in Budapest, Hungary during World War II. His mother was a poet, his father an aircraft engineer who started a company to build gliders. Rubik studied sculpture in college, but after graduating, he went back to learn architecture at a small college called the Academy of Applied Arts and Design. He remained there after his studies to teach interior design. The CubeRubik's initial attraction to inventing the Cube was not in producing the best selling toy puzzle in history. The structural design problem interested Rubik; he asked, "How could the blocks move independently without falling apart?" In Rubik's Cube, twenty-six individual little cubes or cubies make up the big Cube. Each layer of nine cubies can twist and the layers can overlap. Any three squares in a row, except diagonally, can join a new layer. Rubik's initial attempt to use elastic bands failed, his solution was to have the blocks hold themselves together by their shape. Rubik hand carved and assembled the little cubies together. He marked each side of the big Cube with adhesive paper of a different color, and started twisting. An Inventor Dreams"It was wonderful, to see how, after only a few turns, the colors became mixed, apparently in random fashion. It was tremendously satisfying to watch this color parade. Like after a nice walk when you have seen many lovely sights you decide to go home, after a while I decided it was time to go home, let us put the cubes back in order. And it was at that moment that I came face to face with the Big Challenge: What is the way home?" - Erno Rubik

That was how the Cube as a puzzle, was invented in the spring of 1974, when the twenty-nine year old Rubik discovered it was not so easy to realign the colors to match on all six sides. He was not sure he would ever be able to return his invention to its original position. He theorized that by randomly twisting the Cube he would never be able to fix it in a lifetime, which later turns out to be more than correct. He began working out a solution, starting with aligning the eight corner cubies. He discovered certain sequences of moves for rearranging just a few cubies at a time. Within a month, he had the puzzle solved and an amazing journey lay ahead..

First PatentRubik applied for his Hungarian patent in January 1975 and left his invention with a small toy making cooperative in Budapest. The patent approval finally came in early 1977 and the first Cubes appeared at the end of 1977. By this time, Erno Rubik was married.

Two other people applied for similar patents at about the same time as Rubik. Terutoshi Ishige applied a year after Rubik, for a Japanese patent on a very similar cube. An American, Larry Nichols, patented a cube before Rubik, held together with magnets. Nichols' toy was rejected by all toy companies, including the Ideal Toy Corporation, which later bought the rights to Rubik's Cube.

What does pll skip mean with rubik's cube?

The term PLL is part of a method called "Fridrich" which is used for speed solving the rubik's cube. The method consists of 4 stages:

-cross (making a cross in any side of the cube)

-F2L (First 2 Layers)

-OLL(Orientation of the Last Layer)

-PLL (Permutation of the Last Layer)

When you have a PLL skip it means that after you finish the OLL the cube is solved.

How do you turn a rubix cube revolution on?

With the regular size one, there is a switch on the red side of the red, white, and blue corner. For the mini one, hold down the orange and red buttons for about 2 seconds or until it turns on.

How do you solve one side of a rubik's cube?

Use the Rubik's Cube solving guide I added in the related Links. By solving steps 1-2 you actually complete the first layer (a.k.a one side of the Rubik's cube..)

How do you solve a rubix cube?

You have to keep turning all the sides randomly and rapidly until you get it or get close

One thing that helps people that don't know how to do algorithms, you can go by the center square for each side. If you look at it, the centers are all different colors, for example, if the center square is blue, then that side is supposed to be blue.

Why shouldn't you put Vaseline on a Rubik's cube?

Vaseline will dissolve the plastics slowly. Also, Vaseline will just make the cube feel slimy and greasy.

How do you solve a rubik's cube using the friedrich's method?

1) Solve a cross on one side (for example White side)

2) Build F2L (First 2 Layers) pairs (2 x 1 x 1 blocks)

3) Insert pairs into respective slots to complete the F2L

4) OLL (Orienting the Last Layer)

5) PLL (Permuting the Last Layer)

Does solving a rubiks cube improve your IQ?

No, it doesn't but it can increase your understanding about various aspects of geometry. The people who are able to solve a rubik's cube don't really have higher IQ. They are able to do this because they have learn't the trick to solve it. They have hardcoded the algorithms in their brains. Anyone can solve a rubik's cube just by memorizing the algorithms and learning the technique to solve it.

How many color patterns on a Rubik's Cube?

In a classic Rubik's Cube, each of the six faces is covered by 9 stickers, among six solid colours (traditionally white, red, blue, orange, green, and yellow).A pivot mechanism enables each face to turn independently, thus mixing up the colours. For the puzzle to be solved, each face must be a solid colour. Similar puzzles have now been produced with various numbers of stickers, not all of them by Rubik. The original 3×3×3 version celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary in 2005.
