I believe there is some excitement happening over a rugby match (Rugby World Cup Final, October 23, 2011).

There have been 7 RWC tournaments held every four years since 1987.

They have decided on a specific format for a number of reasons - one of which is teh time element of the event, next the amount of teams that can safely play in that time frame and the time frame to allow for player resting to take place .

The teams are selected by;

Band 1, made up of the top 4 automatic qualifiers, (1-4)

Band 2, made up of the next 4 automatic qualifiers, (5-8)

Band 3, made up of the next 4 automatic qualifiers (9-12)

The remaining 8 qualifying places were allocated to Bands 4 and 5, based on previous World Cup playing strength;

Band 4, made up of Oceania 1, Europe 1, Asia 1 and Americas 1

Band 5, made up of Africa 1, Europe 2, Americas 2 and play-off winner

No. The rugby competition is held every 4 years, but the years were 2007, 2011,2015, and 2019.

The winner of the 2007 Rugby World Cup final was South Africa, 15-6 over England.

The first try in the 1995 Rugby World Cup was scored by Springbok winger François Pienaar. He scored the try during the opening match between South Africa and Australia on May 25, 1995. The match took place at the Newlands Stadium in Cape Town, and South Africa went on to win the game 27-18.
