Along the axon of a neuron there is an insulating fatty substance called the myelin sheath. With MS the myelin breaks down so the neuron/nerve loses its capability of conducting impulses. Therefore 'messages' sent via the motor nerves eventually do not reach muscles and the patient has problems controlling movement which can lead to paralysis.

ok whoever said scoliosis is a physlical disability is wrong i have scoliosis and i am not disabled i can swim dance climb a mountain what ever! i had surgery for it cause it could get worse but that doesn't meen i have a physical disabillity cause i don't!

Scoliosis doesn't affect height so much. It is just a mere curve usually at the top of the spine, curving to the left or right. Typically, I'm pretty sure you might not be any shorter than but an inch or two.

Some cases of scoliosis are painless because the curvature of the spine may be minor and the spine doesn't shift alot. Some cases are painful because it normally becomes painful when your spine is curving more and pushing your shoulders in a weird posistion causing the pain.

Usually Scoliosis doesn't cause any fatigue. I have Scoliosis myself, but sometimes it feels like i have weight on my shoulders or back. My Doctor says that it shouldn't be causing to much pain if any at all, So there you have it :)

Kyphosis is a condition of over curvature of the upper back (thoracic vertebrae), making it overly convex(hunch back), while Lordosis is the condition in which the cervical and lumbar vertebrae are inwards excessively(sway back), or overly concave.

ok whoever said it is a fish is an idiot i have scoliosis and had surgery for it! s shaped is where u have 2 curves in your back i have 2 curves. c shaped is just 1 curve.

There are four curves in the spine. They are the Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar and Pelvic curves.

I have talked to my doctor and have asked the same question. The rods for scoliosis must be left in for your entire life. they will never be removed. He also said that the rods are not uncomfortable, so you do not notice that they are even there. However, you may loose a bit of flexibility from scoliosis surgery.

It could be muscles/cysts anything like that - you should see a Dr about this if you have pain or the knots do not go away - what were you doing when this happened - did you strain yourself lifting or anything? A Dr may send you for an MRI if they are concerned about the knots/lumps - this will help them determine what is really going on - don't mess with something like that if you are worried.

it can affect A lot of other things though, breathing, walking abilities, heart problems. even lactose intolerance.

however I had the spinal fusion a few months ago and found that my dyslexia has gotten much worse since the operation.

things are more blurry etc. but that could just be because of the medication.

Doctors of chiropractic would certainly be willing and qualified to examine someone with scoliosis, and there are indeed strategies that can be employed to potentially slow or halt the progression of idiopathic scoliosis. A chiropractor will be able to determine how severe the scoliosis is, how often it needs to be monitored, at what stage a surgical referral is required, and what kinds of options exist for treatment. In some cases, a chiropractor may even be able to help reverse a scoliosis without surgery. For example, if you have a functional scoliosis (caused by unequal leg lengths, unilateral muscle trauma, unilateral hip problem, etc.), then if you are not too old (younger than 55) and the curve is not too severe (less than 30 degrees), a chiropractor will likely be able to help reduce or eliminate the scoliosis. It really depends on the individual case. I have severe scoliosis and I was told I could decide. If I didn't have surgery it was possible I would have significant pain in the future. Apparently Usane Bolt has scoliosis so that is proof you can live a normal healthy life. After thinking for quite a while I decided to opt for the surgery. I will be having it next summer.

i belive there is and no rods or screws or hooks are iinvolved making the recovery time much faster and the procedure less invasive

Scoliosis is really an opinion on if it is rare or common. I can answer that 2-3% of people HAVE curves of over 20*, i have scoliosis...so i find it pretty common that 2-3 percent have it...but i think that more people should know what it is.

The lubricant in your joints creates bubbles our of gases. When you joints move the bubbles pops. That is the noise you hear. Also, something the tendons are a little ruff and make noise as you move the joint.

A classic logical error above. Because 'some' people "have dirt" does not mean that the black stuff on various unspecified people's necks is dirt. The black stuff could, for example, be oil, or ink. In any event, the questioner wrote "on your neck".

Grammatically and logically this can only mean the neck of the person to whom the question is directed. Because it is not possible to generalize about all people with black stuff on their necks, the original answer, "There is no black stuff on my neck. You must be looking at someone else." makes more sense.
