On crustaceans there will seem to be two pairs. They are actually biramous (branching) with the smaller pair called antennules. Most other arthropod groups have one pair; some have none (like the arachnids).

Yes, from what I understand they are. They are called a Southern Devil. The bites is likened to a bee sting, but should be treated, especially if they bite a small child. I have recently found 2 in my home. They come in looking for moisture.

Spiders and scorpions do not use the same method to catch prey. Scorpions often kill prey with venom, using the stinger at the end of their tail. However, they first grab the prey with their claws. They then raise their tail over their heads and sting the prey. Spiders, however, either spin webs to entrap their prey, ambush or hunt for their prey using venom to subdue them, or wait for their prey until it approaches them, killing them with a suprise attack.

The time is in the future. It takes place in a strip of land in between the United States and Mexico.

I work at a truckstop in Mn and we are about 2.5 miles from water and we have these things hanging and flying yes flying around at night by the gas pumps and diesel pumps. So while they are called water scorpions there is no water near the truckstop but a plethora of these nasty little creatures, especially by our box crusher. The only real difference I have noticed between these and pics from wikipedea is they lack the breathing tube on their backside, and they yes they do fly. Otherwise they are one and the same ugly creepy bugs. I have pic posted on FB of one I trapped in a container to ask others what it was. My darling 13 y/o genius knew right away and now here I am answering your question. But to answer it for real, it is said they live in shallow water near shorelines and feed on fairy shrimp and tadpoles.

A Sagittarius is a fire sign and Scorpio a water sign. The Deathstalker or Isreali Desert Scorpion (leiurus quinquestriatus) had been reported to be as densely populated as 1/square meter in parts of the Middle East.

Bug spray and oil don't necessarily help. Mosquitoes are attracted to Carbon Dioxide which we exhale. Once they pick up your scent, they tend to follow you. It's best to moving around continuosly so they don't have time to cling on to you.

Arachnophobia

Well...it's been a full week and my legs, from ankles to knees, still look like they've been dipped into hot oil!!!  At least the dripping - ooozing has stopped and the scabbing can begin.  Get aloe vera juice in a bottle from the health store. Refrigerate it so it is very cold. Then apply to your face or wherever the rash occurs. Apply as often as needed. The juice cools the itchyness and helps dry out the rash. It takes me a week to get rid of the rash. Also take an alleergy tablet. The antihistamine helps keep it in check.

Although it might accidenally sting itself in some stupidly bizarre way (like how George Romanes recorded fire and chloroform probably induced some neurotoxic effects on them) it doens't die from it because it's immune to its own poison.

The death stalker scorpion inhabits the deserts and scrublands of North Africa to the Middle East.

Scorpions like more hot weather. Usually, a scorpion will burrow, so a desert terain would be more likey. Hope this helped, Teek
