If your Ranger is a bolt action .22, it is likely a Marlin Model 80 made for Sears.

Most were produced in 1949 or 1950. Depending on condition $50-$125.

If it is in really good condition around 90-125.

The Model 42 was made for Sears by Marlin (it is a Marlin model 80) Very nice hunting quality rifles. While the store brand guns are generally 10-20% less than the originals, due to lesser finishes, hardwood instead of walnut, etc, your rifle is probably in the $150 range.

this rifle was made by Crosman for Sears under the JC Higgins brand name. It's really a Crosman model 166. Originally it was the HAHN repeater but Crosman bought out Hahn and continued the model as a model 166 for Crosman 1958-1971.
