Why do you not remember what happened in a seizure?
Someone will know they have had a seizure because they will often feel it coming, and they will feel themselves coming out of it. There will also be a time gap between those two and they may not feel well. Someone who has had lots of seizures will be familiar with one coming on and how they feel after it. People don't remember what happens during a seizure because they are not fully conscious. It is like as if they are day dreaming or asleep and then wake up. In the same way people don't know what happens when they are asleep, someone who has had a seizure won't know what will have happened during the actual seizure. They may remember dreaming sometimes, like we do when we sleep, but not always. Some very mild seizures will not result in a loss of consciousness and may last seconds, so the person will know something has happened, but bigger ones will result in a loss of consciousness and they won't remember being in the seizure because of that.
How can you tell if one is faking a seizure?
Seizures can cause involuntary changes in body movement or function, sensation, awareness, or behavior. A seizure can last from a few seconds to status epilepticus, a continuous seizure that will not stop without intervention. Seizure is often associated with a sudden and involuntary contraction of a group of muscles. However, a seizure can also be as subtle as marching numbness of a part of the body, a brief loss of memory, sparkling or flashes, sensing an unpleasant odor, a strange epigastric sensation or a sensation of fear. Therefore seizures are typically classified as motor, sensory, autonomic, emotional or cognitive. In some cases, the full onset of a seizure event is preceded by some of the sensations described above. These sensations can serve as a warning to the sufferer that a full tonic-clonic seizure is about to occur. These "warning sensations" are cumulatively called an aura. Symptoms experienced by a person during a seizure depend on where in the brain the disturbance in electrical activity occurs. Recent studies show that seizures happen in sleep more often than was thought. A person having a tonic-clonic seizure may cry out, lose consciousness and fall to the ground, and convulse, often violently. A person having a complex partial seizure may appear confused or dazed and will not be able to respond to questions or direction. Some people have seizures that are not noticeable to others. Sometimes, the only clue that a person is having an absence seizure is rapid blinking or a few seconds of staring into space. It is commonly thought among healthcare providers that many seizures, especially in children, are preceded by tachycardia that frequently persists throughout the seizure. This early increase in heart rate may supplement an aura as a physiological warning sign of an imminent seizure. [1]

actually yes. its nothing to be worried about. they shouldn't last long. its just like when your body starts to twitch after smoking sometimes, but it is a little more intense. i would sit or lay down though, just in case you fall or something.
Edit: I've seen in happen several times. At parties, friend's living rooms, etc. At worst, I've seen peoples eyes roll to the back of their heads, followed by violent shaking. It shouldn't be a big worry, just make sure your buddy is somewhere where he's not going to hurt himself too badly.

The symptoms after a seizure is called "post ictal"= mening the state after a seizure. Most patients after a grand mal seizure (convulsions) are confused. They might stare in the space, they might talk and communicate but they are not aware of what they are doing. They must not be allowed to drive or operate machinery and they must avoid heights to avoid fall and injury. If the convulsions were strong, they might experience muscle pains and headaches.
At this post-ictal state, most patients might already have boitten tongue or might be incontinent of urine. In sum, it is a state of confusion.
What is a tonic clonic seizure?
This type of seizure many people think of when they hear the word epilepsy. How do you know if seizures are controlled?
Many types of seizures are controllable with medication. The problem is that many are not. Most people with a chronic seizure condition (epilepsy) can have their seizures well controlled with medications, yet once in a while if they are ill or under extreme stress, they may have an occasional one. Other seizures are caused by medical conditions and are usually one of the symptoms of increasing illness. There are medications that can be given to control these seizures as well, but they are only truly resolved if the condition that caused them is resolved. The last kind are febrile seizures. They often occur in young children, only require medication if they are frequent, and the children often "grow out" of the condition as they mature. If you are having seizures, or know someone who is, please encourage a visit with a good doctor who can find the reasons for them and may be able to get them well under control.

Some things may trigger a seizure, but on the other hand, seizures may be a natural "mal-function" of the brain.
