The second plane, United Airlines Flight 175, hit the South Tower of the World Trade Center at 9:03 a.m. EST, on September 11, 2001. It struck the South Tower between floors 77 and 85, killing all passengers and crew onboard the plane, as well as an unconfirmed number of people in the South Tower.

The South Tower fell at 9:59 and the North Tower at 10:28 am.

One reason is that a lot of foreign countries feel that America is a bully pushing their ideas on smaller countries under the guise of democracy,The terriosts see America as an Infidel and feel thatAllah has issued warnings that were not adhered to. So Allah has these people engaging in a Holy War and to give ones life for Allah many treasures await them in the afterlife.To the terriosts this is not terrorism but battles fought in a Holy War. Also America has had differances in the Mid-East since the mid 1950s starting with Lebanon and continuing to today with Iraq, Iran and Afganiston who we will be encountering next. It seems to me that we are sticking our nose in other people's business who don't want our noses anywhere near them.

The 9/11 hijackers hijacked the planes because Osama bin Ladin and the fellow members of al Quada are Muslims. That means that they believe in Allah. (or God) They hijacked planes because they have 24,000 gallons of jet fuel in the plane! They bought little knives that anybody can buy from a hardware store so nobody would think that they would hijack a plane and kill about 4,000 people!

In 9/11 there were 4 planes known that were involved

2 were aimed for the twin towers and succeeded

1 was aimed for the pentagon and succeeded but with less losses than the twin towers

And 1 final plane was aimed to hit the white house supposedly however shortly after the hijackers took the plane the passengers fought back, Retook the plane and forced it to crash sacrificing themselves.

These attacks were orchestrated by Al-qaeda an islamist terrorist group.

I looked at a 9/11 research website just now, and they estimated that the overall 9/11 death-toll was about 2,750, so almost nearly 3,000 people killed altogether. This might have been a temporary estimate at the time this site was made or updated so it might have changed. But I think that's pretty close though. To what I can recall at least

The number 343 is in rememberence of these individuals, and is often worn by firefighters around the world today. *One additional firefighter was added to the official count in 2008. This brings the count to 344 total fire and ems personnel lost that day.

On September 11th 2001, Our country changed forever. There were 3 planes hijacked by terrorists and flown into different buildings in downtown New York, Killing a huge amount of people.
