On the other hand rust, dents, dings, refinishing of wood or metal, missing parts, etc. bring the value down quickly. Most of these were made around the turn of the century prior to WW1 around Leige, Belgium. There are many variations but none have garnered a 'high' price as far as we can tell. All but two of the Janssens that I've seen were pretty well 'used up'. They gave every indication of having been used, and used hard for a long time. In that condition they bring $20 - $50 strictly as wall hangers. The top selling price I've seen was at $700. Every Janssen I've seen has either Damascus or Laminated Steel barrels and should NOT be fired with smokeless cartridges under any condition. They were designed strictly for black powder and it's lower operating pressures. Why not post some pictures of it so we can see what we're talking about? Like everything else, it's actually only worth what someone else will pay you for it. But no one will buy it without seeing it.
