I have just purchased one myself, however it was a 16 GAUGE. I have checked into the value and have been qouted anywhere from $225.00 to $375.00 depending on condition. Andrew Kimmen

Hi. I also have a model 345 that has been in my family since before the depression. I don't have a clue as to the resale value of these but will tell you they couldn't pry it out of my hands. I use it every year for ruffed grouse and it is still a great shotgun. I have a copy of a magazine "The Literary Journal" dated April 24, 1920, that has an full page ad in it for the 345. Never. Falls Arms guns were made by the J. Stevens Arms & Tool Company c. 1886-1916. "Nitro" would indicate that it was manufactured for the new smokeless powder shells, so it would have been made no earlier than the late 1890s.

The Stevens double barrel shotgun is worth $350 to $450 dollars. The value is determined by the gun's mechanical condition.

The Gun Digest Book of Modern Gun Values, 9th ed, shows the Stevens No.66 with a used value of $75 to $80.

Knickerbocker was a house brand name for Crescent Arms shotguns distributed by HD Folsom. All you can know for sure is that it was made before 1915.

A serial number range and general condition statement will help estimate the value. You don't need to give full serial number, ie....302xxx

A SxS in useable but not like-new condition will bring between $100 and $250. A 20 gauge or .410 will be in the mid to upper part of that range and a 12 or 16 gauge in the lower to middle part.

I have a 12 ga double barrel and a 410 ga double barrel, both Stevens model 311H Series in excellent condition. I have saw the 410 ga priced as high as $600 at several gun shows. The 12 ga at around $400.

Most all shotguns are loaded by "breaking the barrel(s) open, particularly double barrels.

Do you mean "Nylon" or possibly teonite. Stevens put a teonite stock on model 5100's (I know, I purchased one in July, 1947 in Beaumont, Texas) right after the war was over.

The standard pricing is from $100 to $1500. The value may vary depending on the condition of the 12 gauge.

There are currently (12-29-07) several western arms Ithaca 12 ga. shotguns listed on Gunbroker. The price ranges are $895 - $925. My grandfather left me his when he passed. It was made in 1936 and is still to this day the best shooting shotgun I own.

Nobel model 40 Shotguns in very good condition usually sell in the $150-$200 price range on "Gun Broker"

I am not sure but I have several Kessler shotguns 12, 16 and 20 gauge. If you remove the barrel from the stock. right in front of the trigger assembly. There should be a number like this 10 51, or 2 52. I think the first number is the month and the second is the year. All my Kesslers have a 51, 52 or 53 as the last 2 numbers. So i am guessing the first is the month. I have nothing higher than a 11 for the first. Kesslers in mint condition sell for $125 to $30 dollars according to condition. they were also only made for three years 1951-1953.the company then filed for bankruptcy, and numrich gunparts bought out the leftover parts. these guns were sold mostly in catalogs.

The 1913 Stevens .410 singleshot is worth from about $75 to $150, depending on condition.

Kesslerr Arms Corp seems to have lasted only three years, 1951-53. A bolt action is unlikely to bring more than $100 even if still in like-new condition

What follows is my unofficial auction price summary for 1999. It is compiled from the monthly reports generated during the course of the year. It cover some 1853 auction listings. This does NOT equal the totals of the month-by-month report for a number of reasons. 1. Some guns are listed more than once. I have generally eliminated guns which were listed month after month. If they fell into the category where NO BIDS were received, then I included them once at the lowest required opening bid for which they were listed. 2. I have arbitrarily eliminated most of the "coach gun" type guns. The vast majority of the Norinco's, Stoegers, etc have also been dropped - keeping just a few representative pieces of this type of offering. 3. Some guns may appear more than once. For example if a gun is listed with an opening price of - say $2000 - and nobody bids on it but then is listed again later with a reserve of $1500 and then sells for $1600, it may appear twice, reflecting the two different conditions. While the list is essentially alphabetical, you should be aware that I'm an inconstent typist. For example, you may well find some shotguns under "J" for "J.P. Sauer" and may also find the same make and model under "S" for "Sauer". I haven't made any attempt to unscramble such situations. You will have to sort out these conditions yourself. For the most part, I have included the NRA condition ratings as much as possible. These are the sellers ratings and sellers often have a different definition of each rating than a buyer would - so use with caution! A further note. You may see some ratings in parenthesis. These are ones which I, arbitrarily, did not believe to be correct. Abbreviations for condition are as follows: P POOR FA FAIR G GOOD VG VERY GOOD FI FINE EX EXCELLENT FN FACTORY NEW If you are unclear as to what the NRA Antique Condition Ratings mean, there is a summary at the end of this report. All told, guns NOT SOLD account for 56% of the following list. The balance either had reserve prices which were NOT met or had required opening bids which were too high to attract any interest. For whatever its worth, the average price of the double guns actually sold was just over $1500. The average price of guns sold on the ONLINE auctions was just over $1000. By comparison, the average required opening bid on those guns that nobody bid on (online auctions only) was over $1400. Keep in mind that this is a pretty unscientific sampling since I use whatever auctions happen to catch my interest. The primary source is currently AuctionArms.com, while earlier in the year it was eBay.com, before they went politically correct and banned firearms auctions. The Model 2X was made from 1932-55. In 100% condtion it is booked at $175. The Model 2XA, with Lyman No. 553 receiver sight, ivory bead, swivels and sling, books at $300 in 100% condition. Add 25% for factory checkered stock.

I am looking for the same thing. I have a J. Stevens model 54 in .410 that my grandfather left me and cannot find any info on this shotgun. It is bolt action with a cocking knob on the rear of the bolt. Any info would be appreciated.

I just paid $300 for one in very good shape, hardly used. I didn't know it was Sears, but I figured it was some house brand. The receiver and barrel are actually quite nice; the wood is VERY plain.

I don't think Stevens was using the Riverside name as early as 1903 but they probably were still using that patent date into the 1930's. If the gun has fluid steel barrels, it could still be a hunter's gun but the rabbit ears attract Cowboy Action Shooters and interior decorators. Any of these groups will pay $100 to $250 depending on condition.
