The Mossberg model 83B shotgun in 410 gauge was a shotgun that held either 3,or 4shots which had a internal top loading magazine.these were made from 1933-1946.It should be noted that this model was a bolt action shotgun with usually a 24in barrel.Other lengths could be ordered I believe.

This is a shotgun with an internal barrel diameter (called the "bore) of approximately .410" which shoots a shell which is about .410" in diameter.

It is the only shotgun shell size that uses this convention.

Hopkins and Allen were in business from 1867-1914.There single shot shotguns date from 1902-1914,but they also made a falling block single shot shotgun from 1887-1902.These were in 12 gauge with a heavy frame,and in 16 gauge and 20 gauge with a medium frame.from 1902 onward to 1914 all shotguns were made of the tip over design.

The number of pellets contained in the shell will depend on the size of the shot.

I believe that this model of shotgun like so many others was made by Crescent Firearms Co.This company made over 100 different Guns which used trademark names for the business that ordered them.Your double barrel shotgun will bring between 100-185 dollars today depending on the overall condition of the shotgun and bores.

All of Gambles shotguns were made by Savage arms Company with the exception being the model GU-12-5517A which was made by J.C.Higgins.

Crown Grade labeled 500's have higher quality (grade) wood used for their stock/forend. Mine also has a gold trigger and chromed bolt. I cannot say if those are a standard feature, or vary depending on year made or batch produced, with any certainty. You would have to inspect yours to verify. Not a lot of information out there on them, and last I checked Mossberg's website doesn't mention any specifics either. Hope this helps a bit, I'll edit when/if I find more information on them.

Sorry, but in all likelihood, you won't. There have been hundreds, probably thousands, of small gunmakers in the Val Tropia (V.T.) region of Italy. Disassembly by the owner of an O/U is generally limited to removing the forearm, opening the gun and unhooking the barrels. Further than that would best be left to a gunsmith that can find his way through a shotgun without instructions.

If you mean for the single shot break action shotgun, yes, there are a couple of companies making stocks with pistol grips. They may have separate grips or removable stocks. Or you could cut one off, as many have done before.

Choate Machine and Tool and ATI Gunstocks make gripped stocks, and the ATI one appears to have a removable stock section, which would give you grip only.

Remember the overall length must be at least 26" with an 18" barrel to be legal, for a shotgun. Shorter requires a $200 stamp and federal approval.
