SPAS has 2 Different names to the acronym. Prior to 1990 the SPAS-12 Shotgun was called the Special Purpose Automatic Shotgun. When the USA banned the gun from importation due to its name in 1989 it was changed to Sporting Purpose Automatic Shotgun to continue the shotgun sales to the USA until the final ban of the shotgun with the 1994 Clinton Assault Weapons Ban. It is believed less than 1850 of these shotguns are grandfathered into the USA.

The Sporting Purpose version was different as it had a limited Magazine Tube Extension and a non folding fixed stock when it was imported and is the less valuable model of the two for collectors.

This answer is a little more difficult to define than you may anticipate. Shotgun gauge is tied directly to Bore. Most people understand Bore to simply be a reference as to the diameter of the projectile, one should remember however that language evolves over time and what something means now is not what is always meant.

Shotgun Gauge is tied directly to an old-system of measurement which placed greater emphasis on projectile weight than diameter. This can be seen in old English 'Elephant Guns' which are commonly known as Bore-Rifles. Bore (and gauge) in this context references how many spherical balls of that size would be required to total 1-pound of lead. Thus a 12-Gauge or 12-Bore has an equivalent dimater to a lead ball weighing 1/12 of a pound.

Thus under that particular system of measurement, a 1-gauge would be as large as you could go, since at 1-bore you'd be 1 ball to the pound. You could of course make a bigger gun, but a new system of measure becomes necessary. In practicality however nothing even approaching this size has ever been used as a true shotgun as not only the weight of the gun, but the recoil would strain human limits.

However, 'Punt-Guns' were a sort of big-brother to the shotgun, these were essentually shotguns scaled up to the size of a small artillery piece and then mounted on a boat and used for harvesting ducks...by the flock.

In a realistic practical sense the largest (lowest number) gauges you are apt to find is the 12-gauge. While one can find 10-Gauge shotguns for sale they are returning to obsolecence after a brief resurgance in popularity due to the simple fact that there is nothing a 10-Gauge can do which a modern 12-Gauge cannot for less cost, weight, and recoil.

You need to find a Nikko .410 for sale in the first instance - the company made plenty of guns in most gauges, but they did not make many .410 Over & Unders. the Nikko gunmaking company made guns for Winchester, and if you look at the Nikko model 741 and the Winchester field model they are almost identical - both Nikko and Winchester .410 over & Under shotguns are scarce the world over, these guns in turn demand big money - there has been only one Nikko .410 for sale in the UK in the past ten years on the Internet, and this gun sold with in five days with an asking price in four figures and on all accounts not the best example - value for anything is linked by a number of factors - 1. Quality, 2. Quantity (Rarity, 3. Demand.

In the event you find a Nikko .410 Over & Under the gun could be a real investment, but how much should you pay, the gun has already more than trebled in value on its original retail price since 1980 - the "Sporting / Game models are the most rare of these models and the best investment if you are luck enough to find one - good hunting.

Union began as the Colton Manufacturing Company in 1893 in Toledo, Ohio. The name was changed to Union Fire Arms in 1905. They were bought out by Toledo Arms in 1913, and in 1916, Toledo Arms was bought by Savage. They made predominantly shotguns. You can probably assume yours was made between 1905 and 1913. DO NOTfire modern shotgun ammunition in it unless it has been inspected by a competent gunsmith first. It may bring a good price from a collector, if you want to sell it.

Probably not a lot. There are manufacturer's names in firearms that make heads bow - Montgomery Wards is not one of them. They didn't make it, of course, there was no "Montgomery Wards Firearms Factory", they were made for Wards by one of the big manufacturers, most likely Savage, but if it's a really top-end one, possibly Parker. In the end, it is worth what you can get for it.
