A shotgun mic is a microphone designed to pick sound from a distance. The are highly directional, rejecting ambient noise and sound from the sides and so has to be pointed at the sound source. Most shotgun mics are long and cylindrical, and so, look like a shotgun barrel. Hence the name.

one of tens of thousands of shotguns made by Crescent. Commonly referred to as "hardware store guns". I have an old Essex side by side, manufactured around 1900 (it has steel barrels, not Damascus or twist steel), 28" barrels and exposed hammers. I removed the firing pins, and it makes a beautiful wall hanger. I don't think anybody knows exactly how many trademarks Crescent stamped on their sideplates, but there were a ton of them. Mine's worth 100-125 bucks. Yours should be around 100 bucks as well. Before shooting it, make ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that the barrels are steel. Modern day loads in Damascus or twist steel are hand grenades waiting to happen.

No they did not. Cooey only made single shot shotguns starting in 1948. For awhile, back in the late 30's, they assembled shotguns for Iver Johnson in Canada.

It takes the same stock as the other Mossberg guns, it's just a matter of choosing wood or synthetic, plain finish or painted, and some like the 20ga or 410 are shorter. You can buy from Mossberg directly, some gun sites, plus there are aftermarket stocks available too. Ebay has both new and used, many people buy a new wood gun, then buy a synthetic trim for it and sell the wood on ebay. You can paint a wood one black if you're just after the color. The syn is nicer looking (to most), slightly lighter and has more space inside for storing goodies like survival stuff or tools etc.

I have a val-test single shot 16 gauge. Bought it a a hardware store about 45yrs ago as a kid, cost $35.00. Mine indicates it was made in Chicago, don't know what year.

The model Mossberg 185k was produced from 1950 through 1959, based on originality and condition, a working beater will bring $75 to $100, nicer ones can be had in the range of $175

I can't tell you when it was made but I can tell you who made it. It's a Mossberg model 183k according to my catalogue.

the 10 is alot stronger and has more ranger but 12 is better for hunting.unless your hunting very big game

Type your answer here... hard to say. condition is everything....other factors such as rarity of options,wood grain and just plain good taste affect the price. but basicly everything is worth whatever you can sell it for. probably though in a range from $2500 to as much as $9000 with the economy the way it is. probably would be best to sit on it a while right now unless you are desperatly needing the money

I have a Single barrel Galef Made in Italy. Galef is the Opels of guns. The 2 barrel helps but dont expect half of what the Cadilac and Porsche of guns.

I hear that question alot what is the value my answer is what is it worth to you either selling or buying the value is what its worth to you.If it was mind and only shot a few times with no rust and no damage to the wood and i needed the money i would ask 100-150 less than what i had in the gun if you dont need the money why sell it dont cost anything to keep it don't eat or crap.

In general terms no there are 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, 28, 32 and .410 (67 gauge) although if the gun is from pre- 1910 almost every gauge imaginable was made by someone during the mid to late 1800's and a few oddballs up until 1910. There are some 6 and 8 gauge that were referred to as punt guns that were made to mount to a boat for shooting birds but they are also uncommon.
