You must sing from your diaphragm if you want your voice to sound less nasal. You should sign up for the school choir since they teach you how to do this. Choir teachers are great. If signing up for choir counts as singing lessons look up on the internet how to sing form your diaphragm or look for it on YouTube. You should put your hand over your stomach and if you are feeling movement you are singing from your diaphragm, if not keep on trying, it took me awhile to learn. Hope this helps you.

It is not necessary but it would be nice so that when you are singing people do not smell your breath. You could resort to other things such as brushing with toothpaste or even having a mint to freshen up your breath. Hope this helps.

There's no Yes or No answer to this question. Singing is just the instrument of the human body. Mastering an instrument takes as much skill as learning to sing. I would say there relatively equal, however instruments require more dedication, and singing and learning relative pitches becomes necessary when you play your instrument long enough.

A four-part choir can have any number of voices as long as there are enough people to actually be considered a choir instead of an ensemble. Four-parts actually has nothing to do with how many people are in the choir. Instead, it dictates that there will be four different voice parts. Usually this means there will be soprano, alto, tenor, and bass parts. However, there could be a 4 part choir made up entirely of women where you would likely have 1st sopranos, 2nd sopranos, 1st altos, and 2nd altos. The same is true for men, but the parts would have different names ( most likely1st tenor, 2nd tenor, baritone, and bass).
