Bearings, They are in the metal wheel in the middle of the wheel to make it rotate around the truck axel. the wheels are usually solid if that's what your asking.

well..... first you should open the straps and place you skateboard inbetween then you close the strap so your top truck is on top of the strap and you bottom truck is under the strap that is how to strap your board to a backpack =)

There is a great site that offers READY TO USE grip tape for fingerboards and tech decks. Grip 'Ur' Deck is the name of the company. They have lots of different colors and patterns. Plus some great ideas for creating your own designs using different colors. There is also a contest and you can win some free grip tape for fingerboards and tech decks!

Target has a great selection. So does toys r us and walmart. If you want a specific deck, go to atamaii.com they have an amazing selection, though you'll have to pay s&h. Ebay and amazon have ok selections, but the boards are way overpriced. Target is your best bet.

No its not required but if you are a beginning where them so you won't get hurt but once you get better you can take them off.

You can use a Deck for as long as you want it dosent really matter as long as the board is not damaged onr inflicted wih stress cracks.

It is the a part that gosse in the hole of the wheel and makes it spin longer and faster there are diffrent types of bearings and abec is a raiting used and also abec 3 bearings can be faster than abec 5s it really doesnt make a difference its mainly its durrability

There is no definitive origin or inventor of the skateboard. One proposed origin is that skateboards arose in the 1930s and 1940s, when children would participate in soapbox races, using soap-boxes attached to wooden planks on rollerskate wheels. When the soap-box became detached from the plank, children would ride these primitive "skateboards". However, there are arguments that this origin is not accurate, and that it has simply been taken from the film Back to the Future. Another suggests that the skateboard was created directly from the adaptation of a single roller skate taken apart and nailed to a 2x4, without the soapbox at all. Surfers would skate when the waves were flat and began skating to recreate surfing on land, some surfers began to do tricks on the land such as Bert slides and Power slides. In 1972 the first Urethane wheels came out into production which made these tricks possible. Some of the most well known beginning skaters, the "Z-boys" named after their Zepher surf shop, used a more fluid motion then most skaters at the time and styled themselves after a famous surfer. the skaters brought back the trend from its slump in 1975 during the Del mar competition where they wowed audiences by the close to ground maneuvers and fluid movements. The main types of skating during this time were Slalom, long jump, free style, and downhill racing. Later during the drought of California the Z-boys and other skaters started to skate empty pools thus creating vert skating and later on one of the group's members Tony Alva would perform the worlds first Aerial in a swimming pool.

Retail skateboards were first marketed in 1958 by Bill and Mark Richard of Dana Point, California. They attached roller skate wheels from the Chicago Roller Skate Company to a plank of wood and sold them in their Val Surf Shops. Later on as skateboarding became more popular a man named Larry Stevenson created the "kick tail" on a skateboard which led to the design of the trick board. The sport of skating was considered to be and outcast sport because of its strong ties to punk and the rebel movement during the 90s, it was until the 2000s X games that skateboarding made a new name for itself as an official sport.

well it depends what sort of skating you're doing. street; I find it's easier to use a thin board like a 7.5inch wide with small wheels like 50-55mm. ramp/vert; usually bigger like 8inch wide with big wheels like 55-65mm. length; Compare the skater’s height to this chart: Under 4’ = 29” or smaller. 4’ to 4’10” = 29” to 30” long. 4’10” to 5’3” = 30.5” to 31.5” long. 5’3” to 5”8” = 31.5” to 32” long. 5”8” to 6’1” = 32” to 32.5” long. Over 6’1” = 32.4” and up. remember you should ride a board that you are comfortable with because when i first started i used a 8inch deck for street skating thinking it would be easier to flick and land tricks but i found out that i was wrong. most street skaters find thinner boards are easier to flick and land on than wide decks are. hope this helped.
