In my experience, figure skaters tend to be able to beat hockey players in races, but hockey is a game in and of itself, which skating is only a part of, however, figure skaters are usually better skaters, but you could be the best skater in the world and still not good at playing on a team, handling a puck, etc.
What are some of the spins in figure skating?
When you begin to spin in figure skating, you would begin with a two foot spin. You then would move onto a one foot spin. A basic spin that beginners learn next is called the scratch (or crossfoot)spin. As you become more advanced, the difficulty of spins becomes harder. Sit spins, Camel spins, Laybacks, and Back (scratch) spin are more of the basic of those harder spins and to create a combination spin, you combine basic spins with variations.

CCM is a Canadian company that originally built bicycles, but in 1905 began building hockey skates followed by other hockey equipment as well. In more recent years CCM acquired other hockey equipment companies such as KOHO and JOFA. In 2004 CCM was acquired by Rebok who also kept the KOHO and JOFA names as well. Yes. This is one of the hardest jumps. Other people may say differently, but, many girls/boys have bcome stumped due to this jump and have quit figure skating. :(

Hi, Good question, I have been roller skating for 40 years, so I think I can answer this question quite honestly. Used could be better for they will be broken in for you, so will prevent sore feet. BUT are they broken in to fit your foot, that is something to consider. Anna

How do you tell if you should buy E or D ice skates?
hockey skate sizes work with numbers and letters. the letter indicates the width of the skate. E is a wider skate than D. In any case you should always try on hockey skates before buying them to make sure they fit comfortably. Many hockey stores will have microwaves to help mould skates to fit your feet. If you buy skates online make sure you try on skate sizes at a local store to know for sure what size you are.
