Depends, it be hard enough, it not very heavy much maybe.
What position did crystal bustos play?
Crystal Bustos has now saddly retired but her former position was 3rd base.
Yes. The pitcher is the person on the mound in the center of the infield who throws the ball at the batter. Usually, they are an integral part of the game.
How many players play defense in softball?
In softball, there are nine positions. They include:
Infield-
Catcher - The catcher is behind home plate. They catch the pitches, call what pitch will be thrown (examples- fastball, change up, curve ball, screw ball, drop or rise ball, inside or outside pitch, and much more!) , and throw people out when they steel bases.
Pitcher - The pitch throws the ball down home plate (to the catcher) for the batter to hit.
First basemen - Plays next to first base
Second basemen - Plays between first and second base.
Shortstop - Plays between second and third base. The shortstop is in charge of the infield
Third basemen - Plays next to third base. Usually has a very strong arm so they are able to throw to first base.
Outfield-
Right field - Behind first and second basemen.
Center field - Behind second base. The center fielder is in charge of the whole field
Left field - Plays behind the shortstop and third baseman.
How long does it take to play 6 full innings of little league softball?
At a recreational league level in an hour and a half girls can usually get in 3 full inning sometimes 4 so 6 would take from 2 to 3 hours. This is due to the anount of walks at this level of play. At a travel league level of competition 6 innings can usually be completed in about an hour and a half to 2 hours. A couple of weeks ago my daughters travel team played 9 full innings in about 2 hours. It was supposed to be an hour and a half time limit but after the time was up the game was tied at 1 after seven innings. We went on to win 4-3 after 9 innings and 2 hours.
What does sf mean in batting stats?
sacrifice flies- you hit the ball and someone is on base, the ball you hit is a pop ball and you get out so that another player can advance
Yes. Most right handed batters who switch to the left side usually move to the left to slap. In softball, slappers move from the back of the box towards the pitcher and attempt to soft slap (hit it softly between the pitcher and 3rd Baseman) and try to beat it out, or hard slap through the infield. On a soft slap, it is thought that by moving "running" through your hit and being closer to 1st base on the left side, faster batters will beat more hits out. On a hard slap, it is the batters hope that the infield has moved in a little too close expecting a soft slap, and it will be easier to hit it by them.
What is ruling for sac fly in slow pitch softball when fielder bobbles ball?
A sacrifice fly is credited to the batter only if a run scores. A runner who moves from second to third base does not result in a sacrifice fly for the batter.
A sacrifice fly is not counted as a time at bat [batter is 0 for 0] and the batter is credited with [at least 1] a run batted in.
The bobble is a moot point as the runner can tag up and run upon the first touch by the fielder. Otherwise, an outfielder could intentionally bobble/juggle a ball all the way back to the infield.
If the batter showed signs of trying to move out of the way to give the catcher a clear lane to throw then neither the batter or the runner it out.
If the batter did not move at all to provide the catcher a throwing lane, then the batter is out, but the runner is safe.
I assume you're asking about a 60-foot youth baseball field. If so, the time is about average. When coaching that age group, I usually timed the fastest runners at just over 13 seconds and the slowest at just over 15.
How do you find the diameter of a circle if you have the circumference?
C=2(3.14)r
This is circumference equation for circles. If you have the circumference, you need to input it into the equation and solve for r. r is the radius of the circle, so to determine the diameter, which is 2 times the length of the radius, you just need to multiply the number you got for r times 2.
There are 4 teams in the National Pro Fastpitch League:
Chicago Bandits
Akron Racers
Tennesse Diamonds
USSSA Florida Pride
The batter is out. He can only advance to first if he SWINGS on the third strike. And then only if 1) there is not a runner already on first base, or 2) there are already two outs.
However, if there are other runners on base, there's a potential problem here. Runners can advance on a pass ball, but if a fan touches the ball, it may impede the catcher's ability to field the ball and throw out the runner. So the umpire has to make a judgment call as to whether the catcher had a reasonable chance of making the play. This is almost never decided in the catcher's favor. If the ball traveled far enough behind the catcher for a fan to touch it, he almost certainly could not have chased it down and made the throw in time. Maybe he would have gotten a "good bounce" off the backstop, but it's impossible to prove that. Fortunately, however, MLB parks have barriers that prevent players behind home plate from touching a ball in the first place.
ClarificationWhat is the MLB rule number that states a runner cannot advance to first base via the uncaught third strike rule if the third strike is a called strike? MLB rules 6.05, 6.09, and 10.15 do not specify swinging vs. called. They simple state a 'third strike'. You're rightAccording to the official rules, the third strike does not have to be a swinging strike. But that was the way I always heard it.What limitations are placed on people who are interested in playing softball?
not exactly sure what you mean by limitations go to disscussions so u can ask again and explain it better
If the batter hits a high fly ball and it is easy to catch what is the nickname for that fly ball?
Another term for a lazy fly ball is 'a can of corn' although I have yet to learn of the term's origin.
'Can of corn' derives from the practice in bygone days of stacking canned good on shelves all the way to the ceiling. Rather than keep out a bulky ladder and run up and down every time a customer wanted a good from a shelf too high to reach, shopkeepers kept a long stick with which to knock cans off the shelf and then catch them. I can only assume corn is used because of the alliteration.
What is the angle that the ball is going and the force that is applied to the ball by the bat?
I would recommend a 45 degree angle! i seem to get the most power out of my swing then. Also make sure not to drop your shoulder.
At 45 degrees you would have a nice golf swing but a horrific softball swing. The bat will be at approximately 90 degrees to the batter and 0 degrees to the ball. The angle the ball is traveling will be different from pitch to pitch and speed of the pitcher but along the plain of the field it will be approximately 4 to 15 degrees. The force is going to depend on the speed of the pitch and the batters bat speed but it will be around 6000 lbs peak force. If you wish to get a better estimate refer to Newton's second law. You will need to ball speed and bat speed.
In ASA girls fast pitch how many trips are allowed to the mound?
The coach or bench personnel for each team is allowed three trips or conferences with no penalty. They are not charged with a conference if the pitcher is changed. So after three trips without a pitching change, a change must be made.
