a walk is when you get 4 balls (when the ball is thrown to high or to low and the batter doesn't swing at it, it is a ball) and get to go to at least 1st base, you can steal the other bases.(just because it's called a 'walk' doesn't mean you get to walk, still run)

The fundamentals of hitting can be broken down into various phases: stance, load, toe touch, heel plant, connection, bat lag, contact, extension and finish/follow through. Start at the bottom and work your way up when learning or teaching this skill. Balance and posture are keys to the rest of the hitting mechanic, along with tracking the ball all the way in to contact. See the ball, hit the ball!

What is the difference between slow pitch softball and regular softball?
Slowpitch Softball is played using a high-arc pitching technique where the ball slowly falls into the strike-zone. Slowpitch speeds range from 25mph-35mph.
Fastpitch Softball a windmill pitching technique is used that increases that speed of the pitch significantly and allows the pitcher to throw different kinds of pitches like drop, rise, curve, screw, and change. Fastpitch speed range from usually 50mph-65mph.
The rules are basically the same, minus some variations in batting. In slow pitch if you foul off the third strike you are out. In fastpitch the strike is not called until you swing with no contact with the ball.
Both require different equipment. EX:A fastpitch bat is different from a slowpitch bat.
Slow Pitch...the coach pitches it and fast pitch....one of the teammates pitches it! :)

Softballs are yellow so that the players can easily see them. On cloudy days, a white ball is not easily seen, and this can cause injuries to players. It also makes it easier to locate balls in longer grass.
Also when it's dark out, some minor leagues play late at night and since they are minor leagues they share fields sometimes, so sometimes another team's game would be running late, so the other team would have to warm up where there aren't any lights.
