Gamma is the initial letter of the Greek word “gnosis for “Knowledge” or “education”; Phi is the initial letter of the Greek word “philios” meaning “love” or “friendship”; Beta is the initial letter of the Greek word “bios” meaning “life”. When combined it forms the secret motto and signifies Gamma Phi Beta's core values of “Love, Labor, Learning, and Loyalty”.
