I honestly really don't know. But I'm guessing that later on in the series of the new ultimate spidey-guy there will be a comic where he needs the help of the original spiderman to stop some coming apocalypse or whatever marvel can think of.

There could be many reasons why he wears a suit. Here my opinion:-

1. He actually has changed his outfit throughout the years depending upon what the upper elite class wears to gain trust and show power to his victims. So his most popular appearance with the black suit and red tie could mean that he has dressed himself like politicians of today for the same reason mentioned above as politicians are the people who are in control of the government.

2. He could also be dead and as corpses wear suits when they are in the coffin.

(I believe it happens in Christian funerals but as I'm not a Christian I may get some things wrong about the corpses wearing a suit while they are placed in the coffin. I only so this happen movies so I'm sorry for accidentally hurting your religious sentiments)
