What is this 1898 krag serial number 430578 22 in bbl short stock no c on sight opening buttplate for clean kit rifle true carbine converted by factory carbine or after market converted carbine?

serial number suggests that your rifle was produced in the middle of 1903, about the time the Springfield 03 was taking the field. 1903 was the first year that the Krag rifles were only produced as carbines. Rifles ended in 1902. From the serial number, it appears this is what you have: an m1898 carbine produced in the middle of 1903. As a note, this is near the end oof complete production for the Krag, as production ended in 1904.

What is the value of a Remington Woodsmaster model 742 in excellent condition?

Recently, in my area, where the seller is voluntarily selling and the buyer is voluntarily buying ... and etc. Rifles with long actions bring around $500 in excellent condition. Short actions bring slightly less (less popular). Carbines bring slightly more. Older rifles and carbines bring slightly more.

The only time we can arrive at a true value is when the buyer and the seller agree on a price!

SO, if you are a seller, or want to be a buyer, send me a message, we might be able to determine a value. iflya310@yahoo.com

What is the value of a 30 40 krag rifles?

On Vashon Island, WA in the mid nineteen thirties, Dad bartered a

used hand cranked milk separator for a 30.40 Krag and I'm assuming

it was with a Norwegian as we were surrounded. I was somewhere

around 6 years old at the time. I Remember the gun vividly as Dad

kept and hunted with it for years thereafter. He was a sharp

shooter with it. In retrospect, I would guess the swap came to

about $25. We lost it in a fire Jan. 18, 1950. I have no idea of

the shape it was in as I never could hit a thing with it -- but at

a 100 yards Dad, in his prime, could bore a beer bottle cap with it.

Ethically, 350-400 yards. If you're shootin' paper, it's up to you and the rifle. Max effeccive range is the maximum range at which the weapon is effective against its intended target. Given that, are you shooting at deer, elk, hogs, etc.. Each one will have a different MER. It also depends on your ability to deliver an accurate shot.
