Can you move out when you're seventeen without your mom doing anything?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The legal age is 18. However, it depends on where you live. Some states you can be 17 to move out.

In most states the 17 year old would need to have her parents written permission. You could be considered a run away. Unless you try to get your parents to emancipate you. Call your local court house they might be able to point in the right direction.

yes a 17 year old female can move out of her parents house without permission!!!

That would depend upon what action her parents chose to take. The legal age of majority in most of the states is 18, in Alabama and Nebraska it is 19, in Mississippi and Pennsylvania it is 21. There is not a state where a seventeen years old is considered legally of age and therefore can arbitrarily move from the family home w/o parental consent. There is some confusion concerning the legal age in those states which use the age of 17 to designate the person as eligible to be adjudicated as an adult. The age at which a person can be prosecuted as an adult has nothing whatsoever to do with the legal age of majority.

Why did pioneers come to St. Louis?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Because of extreme persecutions from Missiourians. Persecutions of which included Haun's Mill (extreme massaure of all Mormon in Haun's Mill even though the Prophet Joseph had warned those people frequently to drop everything and get out), destroying of homes, whippings and flayings and tar and featherings of Mormons, etc. These persecutions did not just happen in Missouri though. It happened in New York, Illinois, etc.

Consequently, the Mormon Trail was formed as hundreds of Mormons were forced to leave their homes and trek thousands of miles through all sorts of conditions until the finally reached safety in Salt Lake City, Utah.
