France. The sculpter was fredric bartholdi and the current u.s president was Ulysses s. grant. He confirmed that the island that the France sculpter chose was indeed possible for the place lady liberty goes. :) anything else you neeed to know about the statue of liberty i have right in my brain.

In large cities and small town, in famous museums and on rarely visited battlefields. An interesting collection is is Statuary Hall at the US Capital where each US State is allowed to exhibit two pieces. Some are well known and a few are quite obscure.

To the first answer, the cladding is indeed cuprous but I don't know if it's copper or bronze. It still is: the green colour is that of its oxide, 'verdigris', which slows further corrosion. The "chemicals" in the rain are simply the rainwater and oxygen from the air, although if the atmosphere there is heavily polluted by sulphur this will add weak sulphuric acid to the mix to turn the copper to copper sulphate. I don't know the region's prevailing wind direction: if Easterly it will take the worst pollution inland from New York.

Check the edge of the coin, the motto should be on it along with the date and mintmark. If it's missing take to a coin dealer, it may have some value.
