What does the EPS tell an investor?
EPS means Earnings per Share. It is the company's earnings for a certain period--usually a quarter or a year--divided by shares outstanding.
It could tell me a lot of things.
Wall Street investors feel that there is a certain range in which a stock's earnings per share should be. If the EPS drops below that range, the company needs to do something to improve it, and there are two basic ways to do that: increase earnings or decrease the number of shares outstanding through a stock buyback or a reverse stock split. Increasing earnings is, of course, much better--decreasing the shares outstanding is a bandaid...one that's soaked in blood and has half the glue missing.
EPS that's too high is bad too. That means either you're not putting enough money back into the company (when I worked for Home Depot, our stock took a serious hit because our EPS was too high; the analysts said our biggest problem was we had very outdated computers and it was slowing us down, and we should buy a lot of new automation to make the employees' jobs easier.) or you don't have enough stock outstanding and should do a stock split or another issue.
What does SIP mean for an electronic stock exchange?
Securities Information Processor. They're the ones that implement "the tape". For example, IBM trades on multiple exchanges/ECNs. Each exchange/ECN reports bid/ask and prints trades to a common reporting facility - the SIP. For NYSE,AMEX listed securites, the SIP is the CTA (Consolidated Tape Association) and they disseminate this information real-time through the market data feeds CTS (Consolidated Tape System) and CQS (Consolidated Quote Syetem). Can the public buy stock in para ordnance if so where do you buy it?
Para Ordnance is a Canadian held corporation that is not publicly traded. Para produces great guns. Often shooters purchase a gun and then have several tweaks done to them to shoot at a competition level or for concealed carry. Many Para's comes with the 4 most common features out of the box. Lowered and flared ejection port, checkering and great trigger system. Personally I wouldn't want a pack a carry gun that is modified much (maybe smoothed trigger or ramp) as a lawyer would show that you are just a gun nut making changes to cause additional pain and suffering. Para's LDA (light double action) makes a great carry weapon as the trigger system is a smooth and consistent pull, meaning if it goes off you meant for it to. Long enough pull yet the same pull throughout. Many weapons pull much harder towards the end of the stroke just before it breaks. This often causes the average shooter to tip the gun down with the additional force required. Also Para was one of the first to offer several models in a double stack. Having 13-15 rounds in .45 I don't feel compelled to carry a second magazine. Finally, I know that many gunsmiths use a Para frame to build customs guns from as they are reliable & engineered well. Every Para Ordnance gun comes with a lifetime guarantee. I have encountered one problem (with the 5 guns I own) with a fiber optic sight and everything was corrected immediately without charge. Great guns!
Can a company buy other company's shares?
yes, many times as part of a "hostile takeover".
-------
often a subsidiary company will be partially owned by the parent, the parent may retain 51 percent of the stock to retain control. In other cases a company may spin off a division that doesn't fit their plans and make it a stand alone company and own a minority stake.
Sometimes a hostile takeover will be attempted by purchasing and/or controlling a large percentage of shares and affecting who is on the board of directors and other company policies.
Company will record the issue of 50 shares only as remaining 50 shares are not purchased by investors and only the subscribed and paid up capital is recorded.

What is the different between preference shares and paid-up shares?
Preference shares have a dual nature. They receive a fixed interest payment for a pre determined time period (say 10 years) or for a specific stock price of the underlying company (say $40). When the criteria has been met the preference share can be converted into "common" stock or sold back to the issuer depending on the terms.
When a company needs money, it sells stock which reperesents an ownership in the company. So if a company issued shares for $10 par value but at the time of selling the stock was $50 it has a "paid up" of $40. Par value almost always means nothing. So the company wouldve sold a portion of its business for $50 a piece.
