Reverend Parris is hypocrical because he is supposed to be a man of God but really he is only concerend with his reputation when he should be concerned with the lives of all the inocent townspeople who are to be hanged. He claims to be something that he isn't.

Abigail is hypocritical because she acts like she is an inocent girl and an honest girl but she is making false accusations against everyone to save herself. Also she had an affair with John Proctor even thogh she claims to be a good Puritan.

Her use of power was that she could use people and have them do what she said, with that she made so many people do her willing. She was to busy trying to get her revenge. She could manipulate people that was her use of power.

The first, and worse, is that Proctor's supposed evidence is all just an attack upon the court. This doesn't hold up very long, so he starts reciting everything he can think of against Proctor; that he plows on Sunday, that he only comes to church about once a month, etc. He basically puts Proctor's religious base into question. And although this doesn't do much, Proctor is eventually condemned with the help of Elizabeth's lie and Mary Warren's accusation. So Parris got his way
