A while later, she found out she was pregnant, and then had a miscarriage. Her doctor told her that she had miscarried because she conceived while on birth control. This situation led Jim Bob and Michelle to look to the Bible for answers, where they came to the conclusion that children were a gift from God, and that they should trust God to give them as many children as He saw fit.
