By what path of higher reasoning or occult knowledge can he possibly say that

The Bible tells us that this world is never fully destroyed. Before mankind totally destroys all, Jesus is said to come again to end the madness. After the Millennial rule following His 2nd Coming, the earth and even the physical universe will be purged and made anew - pure by fire:

NASA is not predicting the end of the world. They are being swamped with 2012 theories by some frantic people, and they are trying to quell the "Y2K-style" panic that seems to be growing.
This was a belief sparked by Harold Camping, a religious leader at Family Radio. Keep in mind that a few months back, they were saying the date was March 21st, 2011. They amended this date after March 21st came and went. According to this group, the world will end October 11, 2011. Apparently those few true Christians were taken up into the Rapture and we who remain behind will suffer tribulation, whatever that is, until October. Or perhaps not.
Answer: No, it wasn't and was a mere hoax to confuse many who are anxious for Judgement Day so that they are listening to man and not our Creator, and to further set doubt in the minds of those who believe there will be no day of judgment at all.
The Bible specifically says that no one knows when the end will come. It also says there will be many false prophets.

I believe the Rapture will occur simply because God said it would: it just hasn't happened yet.

There's no end time prophecy that says: "World War III." It speaks to general global conditions to look for to know Jesus' return is near.
What's come to be known as "Great Tribulation" [or THE Great Tribulation] is the next big global event for which we should be looking. It composes the "fifth seal" of Revelation 6... and is described to us by Jesus in Matthew 24: 9-28.
According to Jesus... the events of the Great Tribulation will take all life on earth to the brink of annihilation.
"...then shall be Great Tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be [again]. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." (Matt.24:21-22)
Should all the nations of the world be foolish and desperate enough to engage in all-out war, again, as it did in World War II... where every type of weaponry that every nation had was thrown into the mix and used until it was exhausted -- then, World War III would surely be the catalyst to bring about Matthew 24:22.
Between technological advances in nuclear power, chemical and biological weaponry, laser technology, stuff of which the world in general is unaware... and the perfect fanatical willingness of some to use any and all of it against their perceived enemies -- all of the ingredients for Matthew 24:22 are extant in the world even now... and awaiting someone to combine them.
World War III is not named as such in Bible prophecy. But it's a global war that must never be fought -- or at least be "cut short" and not allowed to reach its inevitable conclusion, if it does start.
And if it does start... only God can stop it, or "there should no flesh be saved."

It isn't just narcissists who can do this, but some of us do it as well. For example: You leave your ex husband and later tell a girlfriend or your new boyfriend what a creep he was, etc. That's considered devaluating as well. Narcissists are perfectionists in their own mind (most aren't) and they also consider themselves always right (everyone else is wrong) and they feel they're intellectually superior to those around them (and most aren't.) Forget what this person is saying about you and those who know you won't listen and those that do were never your friends in the first place. Move on. I would think it's unlikely. What's possible is that you're being devalued from the onset, but you don't realize it until the relationship ends.
