Prospero

Ferdinand is the son of Alonso, King of Naples. He is separated from his father and companions following the shipwreck and stumbles upon Prospero and Miranda. He falls in love with Miranda and later becomes her husband.

He speaks in prose ( what most texts are written in: books &essays etc.Poems are not written in prose)
He talked in prosebecause he wasn't as educated as others in the play and also Shakespeare wanted to show him as a lower class character.

Puns, alliteration, repetition, slapstick, so easily distracted by the clothing, dynamic of bickering children, really desperate for alcohol, Stephano thinks he's incharge, Ariel saying thou liest, Caliban insulting Trinculo, irony and sarcasm. There were some more but I can't think of them now...

Caliban is an outcast because his clothing is ragged and dirty.

Casting ariel as two actors

The Tempest has many scenes centring around guilt or forgiveness. In particular, part way through, when Ariel presents the men who had chanced upon the island with a great feast. She shows them the food, makes them want it, then takes it away speaking about what they did to Prospero and Miranda. This comes to play in the end, as Prospero forgives those who had banished him years ago, primarily because he feels as though he has achieved what he needed to. He has made them feel alone, lost and guilty for the past, only after they feel this can he truly forgive them.

Miranda is naturally a very nice person, which is something of a miracle when you consider who her old man is. Thankfully, she shares absolutely none of her father's bitterness and resentment at the men responsible for their island exile. For her, an encounter with another human being is a rare treat: an opportunity to connect with someone who isn't her father (Prospero), an ugly brute (Caliban), or a sprite (Ariel). So when a shipload of strangers washes up on the shore, Miranda's veritably thrilled at the prospect of making new friends.

There were four kings in the Shakespearean play 'Macbeth'. In Act 1 Scene 2, readers and viewers met King Sweno [c. 1016-1035] of Norway and King Duncan I [d. August 14, 1040] of Scotland. In Act 2 Scene 4, Macbeth [c. 1014-August 15, 1057] was preparing to go to Scone, the traditional site at which the Kings of Scotland were crowned. In Act 5 Scene 9, the future King Malcolm III [d. November 13, 1093] was preparing to go to Scone, to succeed Macbeth as ruler over all the Scots.

Prospero's shadow is larger than the other characters' shadows.

Prospero and Ariel

It makes sympathizing with him more difficult for the audience.

For bad because he only learned and used magic to get renege from the people that did wrong to him, but you could also argue that he thought most of the people lessons, like Alonso!

Caliban is the son of Sycorax, a witch in Prospero's eyes. Sycorax inhabited the island for years before giving birth to Caliban. Sycorax then passed away and Caliban believes the island is his by birthright. Prospero was once an important man in a large city but his brother betrayed him and banished him to this island. Prospero, arrived on the island with his daughter and took it as his own. Therefore, it was stolen from Caliban. However it is rightfully Calibans.

Probably Antonio and Sebastian because they let greed and power consume then.

They planned to kill the king.
