How did blue from the temptations die?
Paul Williams shot himself in the head, August 17th 1973.
Correction:
There were three main lead singers of The Temptations:
1st Lead Singer, Eddie Kendrick(s)--died of lung cancer in 1992
2nd Lead Singer, replacing Elbridge "Al" Bryant, David Ruffin--died of cocaine overdose in 1991
3rd Lead Singer, replacing Paul Williams, Dennis Edwards--still alive as of 3/05/2011
Otis Williams, who formed the Temptations, was never considered a lead singer. Paul Williams, an original member, also was not a lead singer. Eddie Kendrick was Paul's best friend and was offered the lead singer role. His condition in joining the group, then known as the Elgins, was to have Paul as a member of the group, as well.
There were other lead singers that came in and out of the group, including Richard Street, who had been with the Distants before joining the Monitors.
The "Classic 5" known Temptations are Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, Eddie Kendrick, Paul Williams and David Ruffin. Dennis Edwards became lead singer only after Eddie Kendrick's departure.
Why did William and Mary share the throne?
According to "Scotland: A Concise History" by James Halliday, Mary would have succeeded James II, but James had another son in 1688 described as "unexpected and inopportune". So William of Orange (ruler of Holland) was invited by the English to come and bring James into obedience. He did and ran James into exile. After some confusion the English parliament conferred the joint (England and Scotland) crown upon William and Mary. Simply put, William and Mary were married. They were also cousins, William being the son of Charles II's sister, Mary, who married William II of Orange. Thus William also had a claim to the English and Scottish throne (I believe he was right after Mary and Anne). However, William did not want to be king through Mary's grace, but through his own (He did not want to be tied to Mary's strings) and he also wanted to remain king if Mary predeceased him (which she did). These were the conditions of his acceptance of the English and Scottish throne.
