No, not at all.

Tourettes Syndrome is not dangerous at all.

Someone with tourettes has occasional "tics" where their body jerks or they say something they don't mean to say. It is very difficult to control tourettes and scientists have only recently begun discovering how to help someone with tourettes other than using medication.

Just because someone has a disability, it does not mean they are "dangerous" or "dangerous to be in a relationship with". They definitely should not be treated differently because they have a disability. Most people with disabilities are more sensitive or caring than those without disabilities.

Whoever told you it is dangerous to be in a relationship with a tourettes sufferer has broken the law (Disability Discrimination).

In those cases law enforcement agencies would have medical and behavioral reasons not to employ an otherwise attractive candidate.

Tourette syndrome is a neurological disorder characterized by involuntary movements and vocalizations called tics. Abnormal levels of neurotransmitters, particularly dopamine, in specific areas of the brain may also play a role in the development of the disorder. Family history can increase the likelihood of developing Tourette syndrome, indicating a genetic component.

No. Tourette's syndrome is a neurological disorder, typically caused by an abnormally structured basal ganglia and prefrontal cortex. It may also be related to levels of noradrenalin, seratonin and dopamine in the brain. It is not a mental disorder.

Evidence suggests that individuals with Tourette's without comorbid conditions have a higher-than-predicted* IQ (based on a statistical model taking into account their age, family history and background), and may be more skilled at grammer and native-language skills. No studies on mathematical skills have been performed.

Does tourettes go away?

Well, there isn't a clear answer to that. I discovered that i had tourette syndrome when i was 7 years old. I would say i had moderate symptoms, never blurted words, but had many other tics. I bounced from Rx to Rx, never noticing any helpful effects. At the end of highschool my tics were limited yet still visible. When I started college i stopped taking the meds and starting smoking pot, and that was the best thing for it. And since then, I wouldn't say im tic free, but i can confidently say that my tourettes is invisible to others. I have been using marijuana ever since i stopped taking the medication, and i am a little worried that my tics will come back if i stop smoking pot. But overall, My tourettes have gone away. although my tics have gone away i still have the anxiety and some depression every so often. Im not sure is smoking weed had anything to do with it, but who knows. peace.
