Can a transsexual in the UK get legally married?
Yes... but......
You need to be granted a full gender recognition certificate by the Gender Recognition Panel and then get a new birth certificate which reflects your acquired gender.
With that all in order you should be able to marry your partner.
See the related link for more information.
No, it is a birth condition, not a sin. A transsexual person is simply a person who was born in the wrong body. It has absolutely nothing to do with sin nor religion.
What are the effects of transsexualism?
Transsexualism is when you are born with a body that is opposite of who you are and how you brain was wired since before birth.
Merely wanting to be the opposite gender makes you transgendered, that is not the same as being born with the wrong body. Assuming MtF here, a transgender is a man who merely wants to be a woman, while a transsexual woman is a woman born wrongly with male parts. Transgenderism is a recreation, political label, fetish, identity or choice, while transsexualism is regarded more like a birth anomaly. Both the genitals and brain determine your sex, and transsexuals have the need to correct both their social role and their bodies to match their brain sex, and after correction, to fully assimilate with members of their corrected sex (other women if male-to-female, and other men if female-to-male).
Can a transgender transsexual female get another female pregnant?
Pre-operation (sex reassignment surgery), while hormones such as estrogen can decrease the level of testosterone a bit- pregnancy is still possible.
How many transsexual men are there?
Estimates on the actual number of transsexual men seem to hover around a 3 to 1 ration of transsexual women (born male, gender is female) vs transsexual male (born female, gender is male) and it is estimated that there are about 400,000 transsexuals worldwide. It appears to be more prevalent in Western countries, but in general that is because there are less deaths by coming out there. Murder still occurs, often, but not as much as in 2nd and 3rd world countries where any gender variance is punishable by death.

Is a transvestite is always a transsexual?
Transvestites are NOT Transsexuals. A transvestite wants to keep their present sex parts, but wants to appear to be the opposite sex.
A transvestite is just another name for a crossdresser.
A transsexual is a person born with a gender different than their physical sex.
Transgender is a term that has many meanings depending on who is using it: presently those who used to be called transsexuals are using it to describe themselves.
There are those who are 'gender-variant', or see themselves not fitting into the binary pattern that society appears to want us to fit into.
No one has any claim to the word and no one is right. If someone is using the word, the only way to know what they mean is by context.
How many transexuals are there in the world?
Since it has been posited by educationally accepted scientists that 0.5 to 1% of the population world wide is transgendered, then if we have 7 billion human beings on the planet, then 35 to 70 million human beings are transgendered.
However, the question is about transsexual persons, not people who dress as or pretend to be the other sex and deliberately keep their original parts. Transsexual persons eventually get surgery. There are about 1/10 to 1/100 as many genuine TS persons are there are TG persons. So there would be anywhere from 350,000 to 7 million born with transsexualism rather than merely living a transgendered lifestyle.
Why are transsexuals so attractive to men?

How to tell parents about being transsexual?
I'm 14 years old and currently I'm legally a woman living in the USA.
I always felt like I wasn't placed in the right body and I have almost no social life because of how stereotypes of women are implied to most girls in my school (which I'm the opposite of).
I always wanted to be a man and acted, dressed, and tried hard to avoid the woman stereotype my parents have been trying to raise me as.
I don't have a sexuality,I love people, not genders, so please don't suggest I'm just a penis envying lesbian. I am sure that I will only be happy if I can live as a man.
I've been hiding my true desires all my life and going along with my Christians,Republican parents' womanly life they have applied on me, because I fear they would think I'm crazy and send me to therapy.
(While in the car awhile ago, I just said to my mom "I want to be a man", she replied "If you do, I'll send you to therapy tomorrow",I then told her I was just kidding, but it hurts for me for her to think I'm normal and lying to her face)
Recently, they have let me cut my hair to short, masculine length and let me use some male bath products (male hair paste, shampoo, etc.)
When I think hard about the place I'm in at the moment, it's so hard to just type about it. Going through puberty in a woman's body, using a woman's restroom, and giving into womanly stereotype sometimes brings me to tears.
I want to start taking some kind of hormone treatment before I get womanly curves and such, I know I may be young but there are non-black market, non-prescription products that help lower Estrogen and help increase Testosterone (yes, woman produce it too, just much lower than men).
I just can't bring myself to tell my parents about it, they would think I'm nuts and just going through a phase because of how I let them apply womanly stereotypes on me and appear happy with it.
I need a way to explain my situation without appearing crazy and persuade them into letting me get hormones.
Also, If you have any way I could just start to "hint" my parents into the idea so when I tell them they're already suspicious about it, it would help a lot. :)
well idk wht its like to be a woman and want to be a MAN but i do know what its like to be a lesbian.......its hard to tell but you just have to get it out and make sure you parents know.....im 12 almost 13 and am a lesbian and it took my parents a long time to get used to it but finally they excepted me as i am and now they still love me like i was a normal child

Not the famous one, to public knowledge at least. There may have been another woman with that name who was a transexual though.
