What does tangent 2 x plus 1 equal?

tan(2x) = 2tanx/(1 - tan2x)

So tan(2x) +1 = 2tanx/(1 - tan2x) + 1

= 2tanx/(1 - tan2x) + (1 - tan2x)/(1 - tan2x)

= (-tan2x + 2tanx + 1)/(1 - tan2x)

An isoceles triangle has two sides of 52 and one side of 40 What are the angles?

Let the sides be abc and their opposite angles be ABC and so:

Using the cosine rule angle A = 67.38 degrees

Using the cosine rule angle B = 67.38 degrees

Angle C: 180-67.38-67.38 = 45.24 degrees

How do you solve 1 minus cosx divided by sinx plus sinx divided by 1 minus cosx to get 2cscx?

(1-cosx)/sinx + sinx/(1- cosx)

= [(1 - cosx)*(1 - cosx) + sinx*sinx]/[sinx*(1-cosx)]

= [1 - 2cosx + cos2x + sin2x]/[sinx*(1-cosx)]

= [2 - 2cosx]/[sinx*(1-cosx)]

= [2*(1-cosx)]/[sinx*(1-cosx)]

= 2/sinx

= 2cosecx

What is sec2?

sec2 = 1/cos(2) = -2.403 (radians)

What is a cotangent?

Cotangent is a trigonometric function.

It is the reciprocal of the tangent.

What is the value of the sine of 55?

Assuming you are referring to degrees; 0.81915

What is tan theta in terms of sin theta?

Almost by definition, tan θ = sin θ / cos θ

You can convert this to sine θ in several ways, for example:

sin θ / cos θ = sin θ / cos (pi/2 - θ)

Or here is another way, using the Pythagorean identity:

sin θ / cos θ = sin θ / root(1 - sin2θ)

Where does the word balaclave come from?

I don't know about balaclave, but the name "balaclava" comes from the town of Balaklava in Crimea. During the Crimean War, knitted balaclavas were sent over to the British troops to help protect them from the bitter cold weather.

Can you have a pictue of a hectagon in 3 equal sides?

No, because there is no such thing as a hectagon. Unfortunately there are a few similar words and so it is not possible to guess what you meant.

Why is trigonometry important to carpenters?

Perhaps in figuring angles and bevels when installing mouldings or when figuring lengths of rafters in stick building. I personally never got beyond basic algebra in high school(and barely made passing grades) yet I have built hundreds of houses and installed a lot of mouldings at a lot of crazy angles and squared up a lot of foundations just using basic math and a lot of common sense. It might have been easier had I known trig but it sure did'nt seem necessary.
