Why did Vincent Bugliosi write Helter Skelter?
There is no simple answer to this question. It is a tale of caution, what happens in society with no rules to live by. That evil exists and it wears a mask that looks like our daughters, sons, neighbors. That when Jesus comes, He won't ask young people to kill strangers to prove how worthy they are. Mostly, he probably needed to purge Manson from his mind.
Was the Green River Killer ever caught?
Gary Leon Ridgeway was arrested on November 30, 2001 at his place of employment in Auburn, Washington.
Edward Theodore Gein, the inspiration for Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Silence of the Lambs, shared a home with his father, mother, and brother in a remote, rural farmhouse in Plainville, Wisconsin. His mother survived his father, and an in-depth online search of the Gein case that gets into the subject of his mother with some depth, gives considerable insight into Ed Gein himself. After the death of his entire family from natural causes, Gein lived alone in near isolation, and began his life of crime as a body-snatcher. Robbing graves at the local cemetery, and using body parts as knick-knacks, lamps, dishes, ect. Like Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs, Gein made clothes made of human skin and would wear them around the farmhouse. When stealing cadavers lost it's appeal, Gein graduated to murder, killing at least two local women, and had the parts to at least 15 individuals. Police found a box of human noses, a belt decorated with human nipples, and a human heart in a pot on the stove at the time of his arrest.
It's no surprise that Gein was found insane and spent the next decade in a mental hospital. Finally deemed sane to stand trial, he was found guilty but was sent back to the hospital where he remained for the rest of his life. Like several others of his ilk, Gein, in interviews and discussions about his life, came across as rather quiet and reserved. Gein died on July 26, 1984.
What were Emmett Till's brothers and sisters names?
I have been trying to find these names and so far no luck. I'll keep digging and if anyone knows, give a whistle.
Did the police get the right man for the Atlanta Child Murders?
There has always been speculation that Wayne Williams could not have killed all the victims. FBI profilers Roy Hazelwood and John Douglas were of the opinion that there was more than one killer. This is not unheard of. There can be two serial killers working the same geographical area at the same time. Whichever the case, the killings stopped with the arrest of Williams.
Did Green River Killer really kill a pregnant lady?
Looking at Gary Leon Ridgeway it is hard to imagine that he could have been the source of such destruction and downright evil. He looks very average, someone's son, father or husband, and he is. This is one of the most disturbing truths that defines what Ridgeway really is. Mary Bridget Meehan, age 18 went missing on September 15, 1982. Meehan, in her third trimester of pregnancy, was found November 13, 1983, two more victims of the Green River Killer.
Who committed the mass poisoning in Tokyo?
On the 26th of January, 1948 a man entered the Imperial Bank in Tokyo. He claimed to be a public health offical and he was there because of a recent outbreak of dysentery. He preceeded to give all 16 employees a drink that contained potassium cyanide. He then stole money out of the tills and left. 4 of the 16 employees lived.
The man was arrested 7 months later. He was Sadamichi Hirasawa, a 56 year old artist of Otaru, Hokkaido. Although usually without funds, Hirasawa had somehow come into some cash. When he couldn't explain where all the money had come from he finally broke down and confessed to the poisonings. He later retracted his confession but was convicted and sentenced to death. He was due to die for his crimes in 1955 but for some reason the higher Justice Ministers commuted his death sentence to life instead. Later it was revealed that the police believed that one of their own was responsible for the dirty deed.
How did Wilson dispose of the murder weapon?
I will assume we're on the same page here and we're talking about the murder of Dr. Jack Wilson, an eye doctor from Alabama. His wife Betty Wilson and her twin sister Peggy Lowe were both arrested and charged with his murder.
There is nothing simple or straight-forward about this case. There is still much controversy as to what the murder weapon actually was. It was supposed to be the metal baseball bat that was found beside Wilson's body. Then talk of a fireplace poker among other things. But so far nobody knows where the weapon is that caused the stab wounds on the victim.
What happened to Wild Bill Hickcock?
Wild Bill Hickcock, born as James Butler Hickok was shot through the back of the head while playing cards by a man named Jack McCall. Hickok was in the habit to never sit with his back to the door for this very reason. He always wanted to see who walked in, not to be snuck up on.
Nobody knows why on this one day he changed his habit. Some people say it was intentional, but I doubt it. We all do impulsive things once in a while, and most of us live to regret it. He didn't.
Were Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman friends?
They were more than friends. There was a budding relationship between them which is why he was at her house that night. Nicole had dinner that night at the resteraunt where Goldman worked. He was retuning a pair of eye glasses that had been left there. Since they were 'involved' he volunteered, or he may have been planning to see her after he got off work that evening. Either way, he was in the wrong place and the wrong time.
Does Scott Petersons half sister still have a relationship with the Petersons?
Less than 2 years before the death of Laci and Conner Peterson, Scott Peterson found out that he had an older half brother and half sister, both children of Scott's mother Jackie Peterson, that had been put up for adoption many years before Jackie and Lee had ever met.
The new relationships had barely had time to solidify when Laci disappeared. As things began to heat up for Scott, he took refuge in his newly found half sister's house, which happened to be almost exactly where Peterson dumped Laci's body. Ann Byrd and her husband made room in their home for Scott and tried to be supportive of her brother. But before long, Scott began to show his true colors, and Ann was left with a truly horrible situation. Scott was making it very hard for his sister to support him, as he flirted with their attractive young babysitter, serving up 'flirtini's, while hundreds of
volunteers were still out looking for his pregnant wife.
Finally, things became strained between Ann and her husband, and eventually Scott found other places of refuge.
But the real trouble was with Jackie and Ann. At the penalty phase of Peterson's trial, Jackie insisted Ann testify in court as to her brother's sterling behaviour. Ann felt certain that Scott was guilty and refused Jackie's request to testify. Jackie pitched a fit but Ann would not budge. It was too large of a rift for such a new relationship and eventually things fell apart between Ann and the Peterson's.
The situation has not improved much, with both women in their respective corners. I would think it highly unlikely Jackie would ever apoligize. So at last account, the mother-daughter bonding was on hold indefinately.
What happen to JonBenet Ramsey parents after the murder?
With the murder of their daughter the Ramseys were tried and convicted in the press and public opinion, and rightly so. Their demeaner after the crime was suspicious. Their stories were lame and didn't fit the crime scene. But there is no doubt that the Ramseys suffered greatly.
Several years after JonBenet's death Patsy succumbed to ovarian cancer. It remains to be seen if the stress of her daughter's death hastened her own death. John Ramsey sold his business and has since remarried and lives in another state with his new wife. JonBenet's older brother Burke is an adult now, leading his own life.
I always have the hope that someday Burke Ramsey will tell the real story of what happened in that house in Boulder on Christmas night. I would understand if he did not while his father is still alive. And JonBenet would be an adult now, had she lived. There will probably never be justice for that beautiful little girl.
Would Joran Van der Sloot be considered a serial killer?

Despite this, he fits portions of the definition of a serial killer and is now considered as such by many people.
