Nobody is destroying the tundra. The tundra is the area on the northern part of the earth's surface between the place where trees end and the Arctic ocean. In many places permafrost exists below the ground which means that if you dig down you will reach frozen earth. Due to cold conditions, the process of degeneration or turning dead plants back into soil operates much slower in the tundra than it does farther south. As a result an orange or apple peal that might turn to dirt in a few weeks in the lower 48 states of the United States could take years in the tundra. As a result, garbage is a lot harder to get rid of. It is a lot easier to get the tundra looking like a garbage dump. The tundra will not be destroyed, it could take centuries to cleanse itself from man's stupidity.

There are caribou, reindeer, birds, foxes, wolves, grizzly bears, polar bears, arctic hare, bison and much more! The owl, ptarmigan, geese and terns all migrate to the Arctic in the spring to nest. Herds of reindeer and caribou move south to migrate in the winter. There are also whales in the Arctic.
