Why after seeing doctor is bladder infection causing pain burning and so much bleeding?

Blood in your urine that is visible only under a microscope is known as microscopic hematuria it is found when your doctor orders a urine test called a UA or urinalysis, often ordered to confirm or rule out an infection. Blood that you can see is called macroscopic or gross hematuria. It actually takes very little blood mixed in urine to produce red urine, the result of the presence of red blood cells. In the case of a UTI, the bleeding can be caused by an irritation of the capillaries in the bladder caused by bacteria.

Urinary tract infections (UTI) occur when bacteria enters your body through the urethra and begin to multiply in your bladder. The most common cause is the E Coli bacteria; naturally found in the lower intestine it causes no trouble in your gut. But when it travels to your urinary tract the result is usually a bladder infection. And this condition can be cured by diuretic and anti-inflammatory pill.

Increase clear liquids like water or juice. Decrease any caffeine (cola, black leaf tea, or coffee.) or alcohol. Drink 2 or 3 glasses of cranberry juice or take 2/ 400 mg cranberry pills - 2 or 3 times daily.

The first sign of a bladder infection or urinary tract infection (UTI) is constant urge to urinate; followed by pain and burning with urination, difficulty in starting and stopping the stream of urine and dribbling in between trips to the bathroom. Some people notice a strong-smelling or just odd odor to their urine. The urine can also be cloudy.

Kidney infections (pyelonephritis) can occur when bacteria enters your kidneys; early symptoms are often similar to bladder infections - with frequency, spasms and burning. As the infection grows they may include pain in your back - below your waist band, nausea, or vomiting, even general flu like aches and pains, if the bacteria has reached your blood stream or a fever of 99.8* F or above. A bladder infection seldom causes an elevated temperature. If this occurs when you are taking antibiotics notify your doctor ASAP.

Antibiotics are the standard treatment for urinary tract infections. Symptoms usually subside a few days after you start taking medication. Take all of the antibiotics even if you feel better before they are gone. Stopping them too soon means the infection may come back. Take live acidophilus to help restore normal bacterial balance and prevent yeast infections.

To treat the pain, spasms, burning or frequency while waiting for the antibiotics to start working, your doctor can prescribe Pyridium, a pill taken by mouth that will soothe the bladder. Or you can take OTC medication Uristat. AKA : Phenazopyridine, this drug does not treat the infection, but it is a painkiller used to relieve symptoms caused by irritation of the urinary tract such as pain, burning, and the feeling of needing to urinate urgently or frequently. Taken 3 times daily after meals or as directed by your doctor. If you are taking this medication along with antibiotics for symptoms related to a urinary tract infection, do not take it for more than 2 days without talking to your doctor.

Pyridium or Uristat will cause your urine to turn bright orange or red, this goes away a few days after you stop taking it. It will stain clothing or contact lenses. Do not wear contact lenses while using this medication.

Preventing UTI's;

Increase clear liquids Like water or juice. Decrease any caffeine (cola, black leaf tea, or coffee.) or alcohol. Start taking the cranberry pills with increased glasses of water at the first symptoms.

Tell your doctor before beginning this medication.Take Pyridium or Uristat as soon as symptoms begin. Pyridium can interfere with certain laboratory tests (including urine tests) for kidney function, bilirubin, and sugar levels , possibly causing false test results.

Wipe from front to back, reducing the spread of bacteria from your anus into your urinary tract. Use only white unscented toilet paper. Dyes and perfumes cause irritation and UTI symptoms in some people. Use soap and water or wet wipes after BM.

Urinate before and after sexual intercourse. Refrain from sex until all symptoms have passed or until antibiotics are finished.

Avoid bubble baths, bath oils and powders. These can irritate the area and increase the likelihood of infection, avoid public Jacuzzis.

Non UTI causes of blood in urine.

Other causes of blood in urine: Strenuous exercise, for instance running or with any with sustained aerobic exercise, heavy lifting or even sex. Cystoscopy, when your doctor uses a narrow tube to exam your urethra and bladder or being catheterized to drain or take urine for a sample.

Common drugs that can cause visible urinary blood include Ibuprofen, aspirin, penicillin.

What is the physical and chemical analysis of urine?

  1. Quantity: The quantity averages 1500 to 2000 ml in an adult man daily. It may vary with the amount of fluid taken. In fact it is linked with the protein metabolism; higher is the protein intake higher will be the urinary output since the urea produced from the protein needs to be flushed out from the body. Higher is the urea production in the body, the higher is the volume of urine to excrete it.
  2. Color: The color should be clear pale amber without any deposits. However, a light flocculent cloud of mucus may sometimes be seen floating in the normal urine.
  3. Specific gravity: It varies from 1.010 to 1.025. Specific gravity is determined with urinometer.
  4. Odor: The odor is aromatic.
  5. Reaction: The reaction of normal urine is slightly acidic with an average pH of 6.0.
  1. Water: Near about 96%
  2. Solids: About 4% (urea 2% and other metabolic products 2%. Other metabolic products include: uric acid, creatinine, electrolytes or salts such as sodium chloride, potassium chloride and bicarbonate).

What are the best kegel exercise tools or devices?

You might experiment with 'ben-wa' balls.

Check out KegelCoach (Google it). It's great for lazy people like me who want to have some guidance. It's like a simple video game to make your pubo muscle stronger. It works.

Women can try a great product called The Stimuli Climaxer. In my opinion it's the best quality around, and is pretty well priced.

Also Google an exercise pad for men called The KegelPad. I've found it's very effective to strengthen my PC muscles.

You don't need tools or devices.

The exercises are very effective. However, the various exerciser tools are no more effective than exercising the muscles without them. The tools add no value, only more cost.

The tools usually are squeezed between the legs at the upper thighs in women. Some look like mini Thigh Masters that you open and close by squeezing and releasing. In exercising those larger muscles using the tools, you also exercise the other smaller muscles that are the ones involved.

You can work out the specific muscles of the pelvic floor just by tightening and releasing the muscles that you use when you clamp down to stop urinating or to "hold it in". Repeating this exercise several times a day with multiple repetitions can quickly eliminate the stress incontinence. Another method is to sit on the toilet and start a urine stream and then clamp down and stop it, repeat with start:stop, start:stop to exercise the same muscles.
