Your basic vampire is actually quite a simple being - capable of stealing life-form and not much else. Even the vampire fangs are not something that the neophyte vampire 'comes with' they have to be acquired. The same goes for all the supernatural abilities that most vampires are attributed with. They have to come by them by some other means than just being a vampire.

If vampires existed, they would need to feed off of humans, because they have the most nutrient rich blood. Though, if they fed exclusively off of human blood, a vampire would need to drink over 36 bathtubs full of blood in order to survive. Though, it is possible that a vampire could survive off of other blood, but it would just need more of it because other blood (besides a human's) contains less nutrients.
But vampyers still dont exist.
Vampires don't have to feed off of human blood but (unfortunately for the vampire) they are very much what they eat and acquire the traits of their prey. Lestat fed off of rats for a time and became a furry, futivative 'creature'. He also 'used' an alligator once and became green and scaley for a few days.

vampires, are very Humanoid. They look human, smell human,walk like humans, CAN eat like humans, BASICALLY are humans, However there are a few differences.

No. Although most of the references that you will find will be depicting them feeding at night. This is mostly due to the atmosphere attempted in Gothic novels. In truth most vampires are not effected by sunlight much at all. Count Dracula traveled freely during the day.
Will dimitri come back in blood promise?
I think that one of two things will happen.
1. Remember how all the strigoi that worked together amazed everyone. Everyone never thought that they could due to their nature and they would turn on each other. I think that strigoi are more in control than they think. They want to kill the others, but they still have some self control. I think that dimitri will have self control when it comes to rose.
2. rose mom gets reaasigned to and Eddie gets signed to lissa. Lissa, Eddie, Adrian, and christian are going to look for rose. Rose will find dimitri but will struggle emotionally to kill him. She will try to kill him near lissa so she can bring him back to life. OR rose's is tied to the dead world, and i think that will play a bigger part than people think. Maybe just maybe rose can save dimiti's soul.

Your basic vampire is merely a dead body that has the ability to steal life-form from other living things. They are not (initially) anything more beyond the person they were when they died. Most vampires don't even have fangs, have to acquire them by some magical or prosthetic way, (or just file their teeth a bit). The whole purpose of hollow fangs is to deliver venom, such as snakes do. Now it is possible for a vampire to manipulate his teeth to have hollow one but why would he do it?

A well maintained and recently fed vampire shows a flush and has vigour. Yes, vampires, meaning a humanoid creature of the night that feeds on human blood, do, in fact, exist, but they are not immortal and they are not any different than us, they are merely humans that are psychologically mad. oh yeah, and they don't sparkle.
