Where is the outside temperature sensor on a vauxhall zafira?
Generally speaking the sensor is fitted in the central grill in the bottom of the front bumper in the middle. If you lift the bonnet and look straight down the gap in front of the radiator. You should see a wire connected to the front grill (Or not as in my case as the sensor had come away from the grill broken). The wire will lift up enough to change the sensor on the end easily. Simply pop off and on, then if you look down again you will see a small round hole in the grill. Simply pop the end of the sensor back in there and job done. It took less that 2 minutes in the rain to find and change.
The sensor is not large, so it may be hard to spot, so look for the wire.

The problem, you seam to be hinting at is actually an alarmingly dangerous and common problem in all of Vauxhall's fleet, be it a Hatchback, Saloon or Van, Automatic, Manual, Petrol or Diesel.
All that has probably gone wrong is that a small cable in the ECU has partially or completely lost its protective sleeve. Think of it as kind of like an electrical cable without the rubber bit round to prevent you getting an electric shock. This is causing what mechanics know as ESS, or electrical system shorting to you and me. This has a number of undesired effects: either the car will completely cut out (rather dangerous if you're doing 70 mph on the outside lane of a motorway), the car will partially cut out then attempt to reengage itself whilst in motion - AKA "hesitation" (still rather dangerous if you're doing 70mph on the outside lane of a motorway), or the car will appear to drive with limited power.
In any of the cases, you must get it seen by the manufacturer as soon as possible.
Vauxhall will probably kick up a fuss about replacing it for free, even if it is covered by the warranty. If this is the case, give your local trading standards a call, because you are fully entitled to a free fix if under warranty. If not under warranty then the charge should still be fairly minimal.
