Veins contain valves to prevent backflow of blood. The blood pressure in the veins is lower than in arteries because it is farther from the heart. Additionally, it is often fighting against gravity, so the prevention of backflow becomes essential.
Where is location of the biggest vein in the human body?

if you whack it hard enough, then the vessel might be damaged and leave a bruise. now, if it was a major artery and it was crushed, # 1, you would be screaming and about to die unless an ambulance picked you up... but crushing an artery is unlikely.
Veins carry oxygenation back to the heart. So Carbon Dioxide.
Deep down does the narcissist have regret for the pain he causes his victims?
I don't think they do. But I think they have moments of clarity where they realise what they had and that's when they come back. But once they get over that they get meaner as they are pissed off for feeling any vulnerabilities.
AnswerI once asked my ex-N how he felt about all the women he had hurt in the past. He 'literally' said verbatum and with an arrogant, careless tone, "I don't care." I had just learned of what his pastors wife called "a trail of wreckage" of broken hearted women behind him. A few weeks later I asked the exact same question and he said "I have compassion for them". It sounded like pity. I believe the first answer was the real truth. The second was a clean-up of his first - even though it wasn't much of a clean-up. I searched for remorse and found none. I must assume he now has the same attitude about me now that we are no in each others lives. Any contact since we broke up has always been of a blaming nature. He was emotionally, verbally and physically abusive yet still blames me for the demise of our relationship. He never accused me of any abuse (because I never did) and only said it was "the most fulfilling relationship of his life and he always felt great compassion and love from me". Still, he blames and shows no evidence of remorse. Although I believe he 'regrets' losing me and knows he could have done things differently to prevent me from leaving, but couldn't control/change himself enough to do so.I would love to know if anyone knows of any N's who have truly been remorseful.

Why is oxygen poor blood pumped to the lungs?
The lungs take in oxygen, this oxygen travels down to the alveoli (thin, permeable sacs), which are covered in blood vessels, and the oxygen travels into the blood due to a pressure difference and CO2 goes from the blood to the lungs to be exhaled. The body needs that oxygen for almost every system in the body.
Where do veins draining the head and arms empty into?
The cardiovascular system is one big circuit - veins carry deoxygenated blood from the body towards the heart, where it will be pumped to the lungs and throughout the body again.
Do veins carry blood back to the heart?
Yes. Veins transport blood to the heart, while arteries transport blood away from the heart.

What causes veins to appear close to surface. why do bruise marks appear for unkown reasons?
Superficial vein is a term used to describe a vein that is close to the surface of the body. It is used to differentiate veins that are close to the surface from veins that are far from the surface, known as deep veins.
Superficial veins are important physiologically for cooling of the body. When the body is too hot the body shunts blood from the deep veins to the superficial veins, to facilitate heat transfer to the surroundings. Superficial veins can be seen under the skin.
Normal skin color is vibrant and looks healthy. The appearance of the veins in the forearm before testing should be blue and smooth-looking.
Does blue veins mean your dying?
No, blue veins does not mean you are dieing blue veins mean that the vein is carrying de-oxygenated blood which is being carried from the heart to the lungs to be turned into an oxygenated red artery because the lungs fill the blood up with oxygen.
tip: oxygenated blood is a bright red
de-oxygenated blood is a dull red
What is the structure of the pulmonary vein?

How do sugars move from one sieve-tube cell to the next?

Why do you use vein for injections?
Not all medication injections go to the veins. However, venous route is one of the fastest way the circulate the medication through your system. This is because the medication would go from the veins to your heart where it will be pumped to the rest of your body pretty quickly.
