No problem. If you have straight hydrocodone you have no worries. If your hydrocodone is mixed with acetaminophen/Tylenol (the mixture is called Vicodin) stay AWAY from alcohol. The alcohol is fine with hydrocodone but destroys your liver when mixed with Tylenol. In fact to be perfectly safe you should not take Tyleno within one week of drinking alcohol. You can learn all about the science behind this with a little bit of googling. But again - Tums and any prep of hydrocodone is fine togeather. I just mentioned the alcohol thing because thousands of people die from this deadly mix each year and so many people are unaware!

Depends on what type of pain killers and what kind of pain. If it's not too severe then the doctor prescribing you the medication will also set a limit to it based on the average capacity of the liver so it doesn't damage itself etc. So usually, yes: the liver has the capacity to cleanse itself if it wasn't damaged by a big overdose.

Look for an expiration date before you do. I dont think you should take anything that is 5 years old unless the expiration date is up to date. The expiration date is exactly one year after the day you got it filled at the pharmacy. You should never take expired medications. Some people do, and they are fine. But others are left with some severe complications, while others receive no effect from the medication at all since they are expired and no longer work. Is it really worth the risk? Just go to the doctor, and tell him that you need an updated prescription. He will evaluate you and will probably update the prescription for you. Be sure to bring the other bottle (empty of course) with you.

Norco has the same narcotic in it as Vicodin. Hydrocodone is the narcotic in brand name drugs such as Vicodin, Norco and Lortab (as well as others). The strength of each of these can vary. Usually Norco has 7.5 - 10 mg of hydrocodone with anywhere from 325-750mg of acetaminophen (Tylenol). If you want to know the strength of your Norco / Vicodin, look for the area on your bottle or Rx that says something like 10/325. The first number will be the amount of the narcotic Hydrocodone and the second is the acetaminophen.

FYI- you do not want to take more than 1000mg of acetaminophen at a time, and I *believe* the amount for 24 hours is either 3000-4000mg. If you need to take a high dose of Hydrocodone (or Oxycodone etc), you will need the doctor to prescribe a lower mg of acetaminophen (tylenol) in the pill.

Both the Watson 3202 (generic equivalent to Vicodin) and Vicodin 750 both contain 2 medications: hydrocodone and acetaminophen. The difference is the amount of these ingredients. Watson 3202 contains 5mg of hydrocodone bitartrate and 325mg of acetaminophen (generic Tylenol). The Vicodin 750 that you ask about is quite likely Vicodin ES (extra strength). This contains 750mg of acetaminophen and 7.5mg of hydrocodone. This is obviously stronger than than Watson 3202.

When taking either of these medications, you must not take any other products that contain acetaminophen (Tylenol). Acetaminophen is commonly found in OTC cold and flu medications and products for menstrual discomfort (such as Pamprin, etc.) and, of course, plain Tylenol pain reliever that you buy OTC.

Taking too much acetaminophen (more than 4 grams or 4000 milligrams in 24 hours) can lead to irreversible liver disease and possibly death.

YES, you might die in abuse of it, by taking a massive amount of the drug. A high dose or overdose might cause you a respiratory arrest, if you can't get your system to be stable in a matter of minutes or even seconds the heart will stop beating, therefore the brain dies, that mean... YOU DIE.

You can take these. However, remember that ADHD makes you more likely to become addicted to things. Be very careful with the Vicodin. It is very habit forming anyway, and you are more susceptible to it.

It keeps you from going through withdrawal, yes, but depending on what u r used to taking makes the difference. Example: 2mg dilaudid is like taking 2 perc 10's. dilaudid is stroger there is no acetametaphan it is a form of morphine. Hydromorphone is the generic name. I am prescribed 4mgs dilaudid also lasts a lot longer for pain and withdrrawal. con for me is that it makes me feel too "high"

3 to 5 days depending on your metabolism, how much water you drink, sweating alot...etc. To be safe I would wait at least 7 days. You should be completely cleared by then unless of course you were taking mega-doses ( more than 100 mgs ) per day. In which case I would give that at least 10 days.

In all the literature and articles I have read, opiate clearance times are always listed as 3-5 days.

Lortab is stronger Darvocet A500 only contains 100 mg of proxyphene which is prescribed for mild to moderate pain,while hydrocodone at any dose is stronger and prescribed for moderate to severe pain.As along time suffer of degenerative arthritis I am familiar and well read on any painkiller out there.i have chosen to take Darvocet because the withdrawals are no where near as bad as Lortab and darvocet A500 contains less Tylenol which is easier on your liver and allows you to supplement with otc painkillers.If you asked this question because your doctor had been prescribing Lortab and changed you to Darvocet take his advice and take the darvocet ,cause the likelihood you need anything stronger is slim and you are probably subconciously wanting to get high and you are treading on dangerous ground.

Don't take more than one SSRI at a time. Combining two SSRIs is of some danger, and doctors do it only as a desperate attempt. Combining SSRIs increases massively concentration of serotonin at the gap between the neuron synapses, which may cause serotonin syndrome which if untreated is fatal.

I'm not expert on opiates, but respiratory depression which can be fatal. Don't take more than one opiate at once.

Taking one SSRI and one opiate at a time, should not cause problems. I don't think that SSRIs and opiates interact much.
