If you downloaded it from the Internet using the browser Firefox (ie. if you downloaded the trial version over the Internet) here's what you need to do:

On the toolbar at the top of Firefox go to Tools > Downloads (or on your keyboard type Ctrl+J). A little pop-up box will show up. What do you mean by "recolor"? Do you mean to change the colors in th video? such as the hue, the saturation or changing to another?

I haven't tried before. So I'm thinking whether you can achieve this by adding a filter to the video file.

I'm using Womble MPEG Video Wizard DVD, and I know that some filters it provides can change the colors in the video, e.g. the Color Balance filter, the Color Pass filter and the Color Replace filter, etc. Import your video onto the timeline, and drag and drop the filter into the video clip.

That I know of there is only one way. Right click on the clip you want to be one half of the screen and press pan/crop. Move it to the side you want it to be on and the size you want it. It will cut off half of the video, though. Do the same to the next clip, and move it to the other side.
