Who is the government leader of Wales?

There is no Mayor of Wales, at least in the same sense as there is a Mayor of London. Mayors are of towns, not countries. If you're wanting an answer to who 'rules' Wales, then it's really the Government that is 'in charge'. Although the UK parliament has overall authority, Wales has it's own assembly. The leader of which is Hywel Rhodri Morgan at the moment.

There are several, but the most famous one is the Pontsticill Aqueduct on the Llangollen Canal in North Wales. It was built by Thomas Telford between 1796 and 1801 entirely from iron, and towers on eight massive pillars 126 feet above the River Dee.

Why did the Irish immigrate to Cardiff?

During the times of Irish deprivation around the time of the great potato famine circa 1740 many Irish families crossed to the UK mainland to the nearest points Pembroke and Holyhead in particular. Many made their way to The Welsh Vallies to work in the coal mines that fed the Iron works in Merthyr Tydfil (Dowlais Iron Works) and to work at the docks in Cardiff and Swansea. Is Leandra Davies the most famous person in Wales?

By no means! It's difficult to say who the most famous person in Wales is today, and it could be down to a matter of opinion- some might say Wales's First Minister Carwyn Jones, others might say one of Wales's past or present rugby stars such as Barry John or Gareth Edwards, still more might say entertainers like opera singer Bryn Terfel or comedian Max Boyce. I think it depends upon where your main interests lie.

Is Wales crap country?

Absolutely NOT!! It's a most beautiful little nation, rich in history, culture and tradition, and probably the most ancient part of the British Isles to be continuously inhabited by the same race.

It's natural beauty is outstanding, it has a most fascinating history (including being the country of origin of the Tudor monarchy, who ruled England for over 110 years), offers a huge range of activities to suit all tastes, superb food, and a proud heritage which includes it's own language (Welsh is the most widely-spoken of all the Celtic languages). The people are friendly, it has it's own devolved Government that has responsibility for everything except the criminal justice system, it's own radio and TV stations, an abundance of wildlife, and has achieved much in the field of sport.

It is a poor nation, but this is entirely due to the Centuries of exploitation and dominion it has been forced to endure at the hands of England, and in any case this situation is slowly being reversed by a steady increase in foreign investment in Welsh industry (mostly from Japan, Korea and Scandinavia). Also the weather is not generally good, due to it being a mountainous place- it often rains and is very cold in Winter (but this is the case in Scotland, Canada, the Northern USA and anywhere else that has many mountains).

So no indeed, it most definitely is NOT a 'crap country'- whatever put that idea into your head??!!
